If you drove the porsche around for a couple of hours and then drove IT to the BMW dealer and hopped into an M3 you would be very impressed with the M. The porsche shifter is a bit smoother, but overall the car is over rated. The M will handle better, feel smoother, and be far more comfortable. Also... the GT3 kit? Sounds like a poser. Lastly, if $s matter, the M will be far less expensive to maintain.

I don't like the C63... "let's see Hans, can we shoe horn a bigger engine into this c class?" Honestly though... a lot of folks on this forum seem to think it is the bomb. Guess to each his own.

I cross shopped the Porsche and M3, knowing the porsche was considerably more expensive. I need to tell you, I LOVE my M3 and never think I should have gone the other way.

Thats like saying putting an mtech kit on the 335 is making it a poser m3. I think as long as the person doesn't claim to be driving a gt3 the its not really a poser car.

I would choose the Porsche but it looks like you already did. I like the lines better for sure and could really care less if it was slower than an M3 or C63. Especially for a bum like me, I would feel more rewarded if I was able to get the funds for a new 997S built the way I wanted as opposed to an M3.

That would be valid if the M-Tech kit was the same as the front and rear of the M3. But it is completely different.

Go drive one and you'll change your mind.

This is only something which you can make your mind up about and once you have driven each I think the decision will be easier to make on which to buy.

Good Luck.
i have driven all of them and owned a 06 997, by coincidence.
hands down - NOTHING like a Porsche out on the road.
there really is no substitute.
