240E Software Update
Has anyone had their software updated to the latest 240E version in Atlanta?
I was asking my SA at Global BMW about this the last time my car was in for service and he mentioned that they typically only update the software if there is an issue that would be remedied with a refresh. |

Interesting that it can be done remotely. I'm gonna look into Alex's service.
Apparently his 240E update includes Euro-MDM as well. |

I was told that updates like this could not be done remotely, and BMP/dealer updates are the only way. Has that changed? Alex can do the updates, but needs to be local from what I heard.

I have the BPM Stage II and it included the update. The euro mdm has to be coded in and I don't believe it is included in the 240e update. I also have a coding session that I need to schedule with BPM to get all the features I want.
The BPM tune is amazing btw. |

I remember you mentioning that the other day. Getting a tune has always been tempting, but I would hate for something to happen and it void my extended warranty...

I hear you on the warranty. From what I have read and all the reviews, the tune seems to be top notch and I don't believe that I've read of something happening from their tune. Let temptation win over for a tune!

I went with Nivedh at www.bmcoding.com. He's local here in Atlanta and it was a fraction of what Alex charges for his remote coding. |

You're essentially just getting bug fixes for the OS. If you weren't noticing them prior, you won't much afterward. Euro mdm is coded in and if you want slightly noticeable gains - tune like bpm. The downside of buying a already tweaked out M engine. |

Met up with Niv this weekend and got the car upgraded to latest. I was running 220 and after the upgrade to latest there is definitely some difference in cold starts and idle RPMs.
Coding session was good and quick, Niv was able to show me some cool stats about my car (max speed attained and at what mileage, how many total redlines etc.). Highly recommend him. |

Funny, had mine done on Sunday as well. Update was great, and it was easy to notice improved power below 4k. Sadly, only hit the rev limiter 19 times... I need to drive my car harder. 😎
