You're comparing different kinds of bikes here. Two liter bikes, a 600 rival, and two nakeds. I've never ridden any of these, but I HAD to pick one out of these choices based on what I know about them, I'd go with the BMW.

848
RSV4

I would put 1199 Panigale above them all though.

i'm looking for a 750 or liter bike to have next to the Raider just in case I feel like going 130mph in second gear lol.

I miss Sport Bikes for the sheer stupid acceleration, but I wouldn't ever take it on a long 150 mile cruise anymore...

that's why I got the Raider - but yes, a cheap cash bike would be fine.

2003-2006 750 or liter bike

dude, i test drove an FZ8 when the Yamaha Team came to the Houston area - those things are stupid fast.

real smooth - real comfortable too.

i like the less agressive riding style, but the torque down low was the most impressive thing.

didn't have to be buzzing @ 8000rpms for it to pick up speed.

loved that bike, butr on that same day i test rode their Raider SCL and fell in love lol....

FZ8 and the like are each incredible bikes. I was up against an FZ6 when I was looking into my 650. My previous bike was an '05 ZX10R, but the hunched over stance at the handlebars was too much. I enjoy the more upright seating with the raised bars, especially for longer trips, its really quite comfortable. The only part that sucks is the bike is about as fast as a stock 135, where the ZX10 would walk away from most everything on the road.

The FZ6 has de-tuned engine from old R6. It's actually pretty comfortable for longer trips and with bar raisers you can sit pretty upright.

The FZ8 is something between FZ6 and FZ1 but not as torquey as FZ1. And naked only.

My FZ6 is plenty enough quick for me. I'm yet (or not) to hit 135 on my back roads cornering is more fun.

^ Like you stated, the FZ6, even the FZ1 in my honest opinion, were more closely related to characteristics of an intermediate cruiser / sport bike. Regardless of CC rating, anything in that category was more improvised on the fact of center gravity vs. power ratio. The only bike I have course ridden was on an improvised suspension setup on a 1000RR per maximum series qualifications.

The 650, FZ6 and the like having a more prominent handle bar stature provide an overall more complete feel during typical commutes (coming from a ZX10). Although it may seem as a cross over between sportsbike and cruiser, these bikes from my experience, provide a greater feel of comfort and control on daily commutes compared to a high CC bike.

With that being said, everything coincides with practicality of what you want out of the bike.

Not sure if its the first girls snaggle tooth or the freshman in back, but that brunette in the middle definitely has the upper hand. Two thumbs up.
