Gauge Cluster resets while driving & CIC retrofit freezes

I have a 2008 E90 M3. I purchased it stock with:

- CCC, with USB in center console
- Standard Hi-FI audio
- EDC and M Button
- No coding.

I retrofitted and added:

- 2009 CIC with Combox Telematics, with USB in glovebox
- eBay emulator
- Updated to latest firmware
- OEM alarm
- Axle back exhuast
- Coded in some options with the Carly WiFi adapter.

After retrofitting in the CIC, everything worked perfect.

A month or two in, I installed a megan axle back exhaust and audio almost immediately started cutting out within a couple miles of driving. It would play, stop, then play again whenever it wants. I tried the radio, same deal. Play, cut out, play, then cut out. Couple days later my CIC starts to freeze at random. I updated my firmware thinking it would fix it, problem still persists. Got to the point where it would freeze once or twice every time i drove the car for an indefinite amount of time. It would sometimes freeze and restart, or freeze and reappear in the main menu with everything greyed out besides CD/MULTIMEDIA and RADIO. Then whenever it feels like, will go back to normal.

Yesterday, I tried using cruise control on the freeway and it didn't work. Gave me a malfunction error. Then seatbelt restraints warning popped up. The CIC froze as usual, but now the M mode lights would come on my gauge cluster for a couple seconds then the whole cluster would reset, while driving. My service intervals, clock, everything was reset.

After parking the car for a while, cruise control works again, the seatbelt tensioner warning is gone. All is back to normal except for the freezing CIC. This morning, ONLY my clock was reset and the CIC display was turned off but still functioning. [Edit: My clock was reset because disconnected my battery last night to install a new driver door actuator] On my drive to work, it froze again as it usually does along with my cluster resetting once again.

What is going on? Is this a coding issue? Car battery dying ? Failing emulator? Defective CIC head unit ? This only happened after i installed my exhaust and updated the firmware.

Any insight is appreciate. Thanks in advance.

I'm still under carmax warranty. But I have a $300 deductible. Do they need any proof that my battery is dying or can I just go in and get it changed.
