Do you always drive in M Mode?

man lots of good responses.. thanks for not flaming me! i guess i'll just keep it in M mode and get used to driving it like that for a while - and probably will heed the advice of RTFM lol.

I usually have everything set to comfort and then have M mode maxed out for when I want to pass somebody or on and off ramps to the freeway. The bad thing is that I forget to press it sometimes when I am having fun.

Extreme M on all adjustments (except for DSC mode set to MDM) for when I need to release the beast.

First post in a while

If your new to the m3 (or rear drive with LSD and m trickery) be careful with the m-button

In an NZ spec car away, in m-mode its NOT like normal traction control, it will let you do nice long slides and bite you hard if you were not expecting/can't catch it...I have done a lot a very fun and un scientific testing on several track days, when its rained and all the porsche boys have packed up.

Its a hoot but not if there is anything to hit.

That said I punch the m button every second day especially on motorway on ramps when surrounded by concrete! (great party trick!)

Best bit is heal and toeing down shifting after 8 months of practice I can nearly make sound like a DCT nearly 50% of the time, which is one of reason a got a manual...very cool...works best in m mode

Yes, first thing I do when I get in the car. It's annoying that my '11 w/ M button won't leave car with POWER button setting memorized on key like my '08 did without button. Stupid feature, but I prefer the sensitivity of the gas pedal with it on, so it's an extra step when I get in the car.

I use to, but for regular driving it doesn't matter much. And I don't like a sensitive throttle when trying to maintain a somewhat constant speed on the highway.

You can use M mode as soon as you start the car to drive off of the dealership... You may choose not to, but there is nothing wrong with having the M mode on during break-in.

Funny, I find the standard throttle response to be maddening, especially when the car is cold. My smoothness factor is x10 better when throttle is set to sport. It's much more linear feeling to me. So I hit the M button right away. I have the suspension set to comfort, steering to sport, and MDM.

The car is just a whole helluva lot more fun with the DSC fully off, but by driving without it, you also quickly learn how much the DSC actually does do.
