Power steering flush at 48000kms service?

I just booked the 48000kms service and was told a power steering flush is recommended which is not under the free service coverage. The price is $108 + tax. Did anybody get this thing?

If it's really that cheap I'd do it. I believe the term is "preventative maintenance" :P

brought the car in today and the service agent recommended another thing to do which is a fuel injection system flush, the cost is $195.

I am starting to think what's really included in that 4yr/80000kms "free" maintenance seems like besides the oil change everything still cost money.

and I got a chrysler rental as courtesy vehicle even I called ahead of time to request a proper courtesy car from the dealership.

maybe it's time to go back to lexus or mercedes

Do the power steering fluid yourself. If it's the same as the e46, you just suck out the old fluid w / a turkey baster and fill it up. Drive around a little and suck the fluid out again and fill up.

Very simple.

I do that once every 10K miles on my vehicles. Better than 4 times every 40K or so, as the fluid would be in much worse shape. That way you keep semi-fresh fluid in there. I do the same with the transmission in my Hondas, which require a 3-time drain every 30K miles; costs the same to do it 1X every 10K miles, and has better results.

Very simple.
What power steering fluid do you use when you do this? Preferred manufacturer and fluid viscosity?
