+1 Total BS - guess everyone will be doing a "work around". Cant imagine this bill going thru - it will take the gov't ability to fine people $10K for going over $150 on the hiways. |

FUCKEN BS
I swear, I need to move out of this fucken province. its getting ridiculous. I also heard recently that there were talks about dropping the speed limit down 10 km/h on the highways. Making all highways 90 km/h. Speed limits should be raised 20 km/h, not lowered 10 km/h.

I don't think there is much diff these days between Lib and Conser
I just want an MP with half a brain that spends that half doing thing that are good for the country, not special interest groups that do not represent the country |

it's ok.... if this gets passed, it gives me a free ticket to test out the limits of my car on public roads...
ill get my ecu flashed and "de-limited".... and when the cops see me buzz by at 250 and pull me over, ill claim my car was "malfunctioning" as I thought it should have stopped me at 150. good luck proving that I flashed my ecu |

Wow!
Good god! That's dangerous! Just think of it, in a passing situation you find yourself in a spot where you need to hit 165 to 175 KPH to keep yourself and others alive. No can do. Speed limiter! F'ing amazing! But that aside, shouldn't this be called the "Create Unsafe Motoring Act"? By limiting what the driver can do you're setting up conditions that make motoring less safe. Not to mention what it does to those who want to enjoy the drag strip or the track. I just hope the bozos elsewhere or here in the States don't latch on to this. I'm not sure this is a liberal/conservative thing though--there's plenty of idiots to go around. (We had a Conservative Republican down here who wanted us to go back to 55 MPH [90 KPH] on the highways just last year.) Stupid is stupid. Maybe this MP should support legislation to keep stupid people from driving. That would keep him off the road at least.... I wish you the best of luck in blocking this ****weed's bill. |

Unfortunatly,I live in the "idiots" riding and the majority of new drivers did not grow up here and have no real clue about the Art of Driving!Ride a bike and you really see how bad the driving really is around here.Very Scary!

What a crock. What's next? A maximum number of horsepower allowed on a vehicle?
I would be shocked if this bill was passed. I wonder why they wouldn't set the limiter to 110 kph. That is the fastest speed limit after all.... |

This has got to be the most fukin ridiculous thing I have ever heard
These new drivers and the other idiots who shouldnt be on the road are to blame. I mean might as well buy a toyota yaris...which barely hits 150kph then a ferrari f430...which is 20 times the money. Correct me if Im wrong but I have never ever heard of anything happening like this anywhere in the world and in germany there arent speed limits on the autobahn.... But hey, if this is the case I'll probably sell the m3 and just buy a yaris |

if their idea is to enforce speed limits by limiting vehicle speed and taking safe decision making out of the driver's hands, why aren't they targeting the maximum allowable speed on the roadway for 100kmph (in ontario) By setting the limit at 150, you're telling me that 150kmph is an "allowable speed"... hopefully the OPP feels the same way when I set my cruise control at 150kmph on the 401 the next time I drive to montreal (hypothetically) |
