My E93 M3 came with the 18s, and after using them for 1 winter. I sold them and grabbed a set of OEM 19s. Best decision I ever made

Anyhow, here's mine. Nothing too crazy....roof spoiler, painted reflectors, painted side gills, recent switch from matte black grills to BMW Performance gloss grills, black chrome exhaust tips. Also have the aFe SuperStock scoops and filter.

I happen to think that the 18s are beautiful wheels, which is why I chose them for my car. Let's see some more!!
Car looks great!

Well I picked up my car on Saturday. Confirmed it does have Silver 18s. I considered the option of switching to 19s at the dealer but at the end of the day I want 18s and they do not look as bad in person. I would still prefer the graphite but I'm happy with these.

I am running the 18s, love them. Does anyone know what the weight of stock 18s are, no tires?

front is about 24lb and rear about 26lb. i weighed them a long time ago so this may not be completely accurate but those are the weights as far as i can remember. they are pretty heavy considering that they are only 8.5 and 9.5in wide.

Wow that is heavier than i thought. I had some cast Rotas on my Evo that were the same sizes and they were only about 22 lbs. So an upgrade to something forged that weighs around 19/20 lbs would drop like 4-6lbs of rotational weight. Thanks for the info!

yeap, theyre definitely pretty heavy. my 19" advan rs are lighter than the stock 18s and those wheels are wider 9" front and 10" rear and they are cast just like the stock. so the oems are pretty heavy in my opinion.

but then these rims are built by BBS which are known to have relatively heavy wheels in their cast line up. the BBS CH/CHR arent light wheels either. although the one thing i like bout BBS rims is that theyre almost bullet proof. they build their rims tough as a rock!

You cannot really go wrong with BBS wheels in terms of durability. Looks are subjective. I love them so much that I have 8 of them 4 for street with PS2 and 4 for track/autocross with RE11. All my "mod budget" goes where it is most needed: the driver.
Hi
What tire size you have for track with RE11?

I also plan to keep my stock 18.

Damn dude, your car is HOOOOOOTTTT. I love the 18's. I have an AW 08with the graphite wheels. It just looks like a club racer with the high sidewalls with the michelin logo plastered on it. The wheels really set off the carbon roof and the ride is great.

If one got some 18" wheels with the same diameter specs as the 18" OEM wheels and could save about 7lbs. on the rears and 6lbs. on the fronts one could see some great performance gains in terms of breaking and to some extent in driving as well. I'm tossed between lightweight 18" wheels now or 19" lightweight wheels. My target is to find something around 19" for the rears with a similar size to the OEM size.
