Exclamation Coil Puller

Does anyone know where we can get one of these bad boys in the GTA?

Trying to resolve a misfire on CYL 8. Seems like a giant PITA to pull that rear most coil pack without one of these tools.

Yeah it's readily available on Amazon. I'm looking for someone local to Toronto, Canada. Waiting several days for it come in from across the border will probably not be an option

Wrap some duct tape around a flat head screwdriver, pry from the bottom of the coil with steady pressure while pulling from the top with your other hand. Rock it back and forth a bit if necessary. Even the back ones come off pretty easily.

I've pulled the plugs on my car several times. Although a bit of a challenge, I never found the need for something like this. Just some good ole pullin'

I use a door card removal tool on hard to reach coils.

Don't use the coil puller, it's useless. Did more damage to the coil pack then it does removing them. The best way is to wiggle them out/prying on the edge of the coil with a big flat head.

I eventually bought one of these pullers after making this thread in 2016. I've had no issues with using it whatsoever.

I wouldn't make those claims. It works wonders. I think you were just doing it wrong. None of my coils ever got damaged(I did two other cars as well).
If the car's never had a plug change like mines(low miles), the coils are pretty wedged in. I would never use a screw driver lol.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to lift up the coils by the edge of the lip with a flat head. With the coil puller you going to pull the entire nipple up and break it for those cars that have slightly higher mileage.

I used a network patch cable - wrapped it around the top of the coil and it came right up, super easy.
