Grilles
Guys
I just ordered my M3 but I want other grilles. I asked the dealer to paint them in shiny black,(hochglanz schwarz) as my trim and mirrors are finished in that colour. Or do you think I should go for the matte black? No carbon for me tho |

I recommend going with the Matte Black. The problem with painted is that it will chip over time. With our matte black grills, the set are made from black ABS plastic so they are rock chip resistant.

My Weber is a nice gloss black powder coat. The Viking is too "look at me"ish.
You could look in to powder coating your grille - its a lot more resistant to nicks and abrasions than regular paint. It's more expensive too, but you own an M3 |

Agreed. I've had both on my E46. Go with matte.

Yes, assuming it didn't "chip" the material underneath, but do you really want to have to do that?
