What is there to reverse-engineer? I don't think there's any mysteries to solve.

I am glad that I stumbled up on this thread.

If you take a ~150k mile engine and rebuild it to make it a flat plane, would that engine then have 0 miles technically?

Dont flame me for that question plz lol

It's a complicated question. Recently someone posed a similar question with regard to a rebuilt motor impacting the value of the car. It seemed most thought it didn't increase the value of the car. For the case of a highly modified race engine it is even more complex. To the right buyer it maybe worth more, but others would have their doubts. One only needs to look in the classifieds where various mods are removed from a car prior to selling.

I believe engine-wise the answer is yes.

It's a pretty attractive proposition when you consider how cheap really high mile M3s are

The OP may already have a GT350R, and anyway that is besides the point. He's building something very unique which is an objective on its own

I am very surprised there isn’t an ITB kit for the Voodoo. Those plus a lighter flywheel will get rid of the slightly worse responsiveness and drivetrain inertia and put it solidly into S65 levels of responsiveness with a full 100 extra HP. Better suspension too, but boy does it feel big.
Yes, the owner already owns a Shelby GT350R.

This engine is basically done. This engine will leave Van Dyne Engineering in the next two weeks. From there, it will travel to Dinan for some final VANOS work. After Dinan, it will hit an engine dyno.

COVID-19 really screwed things up with delays...and still will create more delays. So don't expect any results before the end of the year.

This thing will destroy 350's. Not even the same league. 350's really aren't very fast on track. I'm sure many will disagree, but I've seen enough on track around here, and with fast drivers.

Small update:

The motor is done and getting ready to be shipped to the UK for Syvecs and tuning. I'll ask Bert to give pictures and the latest a write up.

UK? Can I take a sneak peak at it?

Syvecs as in https://www.syvecs.com/ ? Tell Bert to go to the Farnborough branch, that's just a 10min drive from me

Btw, I'm really surprised he's shipping it all the way here, are their not any serious ECU builders in the US??

As a finished engine, it looks exactly the same as all of the others. Bert said he posted a photo on facebook. Here's what he told me.

It cost 2500 per day on engine dyno time here in the USA. Bert thinks he needs 2-days. He would need to have the engine dyno adapter plates made ($800-$1000), and buy the wiring harness for the Syvecs to engine dyno. Then let's guestimate $2000 for the tuner. So without the Syvecs hardware, the cost estimates here in the USA would be about $8600.

Compare that to sending the engine to the Syvecs dealer in the UK. $600 shipping each direction. Dyno time $2400 fixed rate, includes tuning, wiring harness, and adapter plates. Also excluding the costs of the Syvecs hardware, total costs are about $3600 in the UK vs. $8600 in the USA. It's an easy decision when you look at it like that.

A slight difference then!
Fair enough, re seeing it, ok maybe I focused on the wrong sense, I would love to hear it on the dyno at 9000 RPM!

Trying to get it boxed and shipped to the UK by May 5th. After that, there won't be any updates until the Syvecs tuning and dyno runs are completed. That's not set to occur until sometime in August.
