Missing iPod Functions

I have a 2012 MY E92, with all the combox stuff, but seem to have some missing iPod functionality

- recently added songs do not show
- recently played songs do not show
- playlists do not show

And the album art is distorted (squeezed horizontally).

Connection is via USB in the centre console.

iPod Touch, iOS 9.3.5

Any ideas?

Just confirming that the iPod is on the latest version of iOS...
