Even though it was someone else's loss in terms of $.. hearing of a brand new M car, even if it's an F80, with zero miles and ready to be sold, being ruined by water damage makes me sad.

Now that is a great OEM solution! Perfect for black interior cars.

I assume this would also work with the base f80 m3s? a lot more salvage models to scrap from.

Here's one with with comp seats that look mint for those with red..
https://www.autobidmaster.com/en/car...SUN_VALLEY_CA/

Do all of these salvage auctions allow purchasing of parts prior to an auction ending for the entire vehicle, or did OP have a unique situation where he had a connection? Not familiar with salvage stuff .. but these seats at a discount would be phenomenal.

Any additional details about the rear seat fitment issues? I'd love to hear about the parts that aren't a great match.

Wow, looks great! I always wondered what those seats wood look like in an e9x. The m-seatbelts are nice touch.

--Bottom cushion-- nearly 100% fits.... trims out all around perfectly (seatbelts, carpet, door trim etc). The only trouble is the front retainers are moved fwd just enough to make it tough to get in (In fact I wasnt able to clip it in at all) id guess the pickup points are about 5-10mm fwd of the E90

--Side bolsters-- fit and trim out correctly with the door frame but only 2/3 retaining clips/guides hold in in place (f8x has one relocated **sides I believe but it still felt secure from what I remember**) Tunnel/window to the trunk interior is a different profile so the reveal isnt trimmed out correctly for the folding rear seats when you fold them down therefor the side bolsters dont line up with the tunnel/window correctly in the E90

--Fold down center backrests-- I originally test fit the front and rear seats using another donor test car (2016 F80m3) before picking up the interior that I currently have, didnt spend a ton of time on the rear seats either at that time... I choose to skip test fit of the backrests because the E9x lower pivot was more work than I wanted to involve myself with at that time... I think the center pivot is in the correct position as well as the top latches but the side pivots need to be swapped with the E90 (NOT 100% sure at all though)

I plan to take some more time fitting the rear seats before making a decision to either install them or sell them (just need to make time for that), I'll take pics of the issues and update this post when I do that (maybe next weekend) It would be nice to have matching front and rear seats completly but my e90 rear seat has basically never been sat so its in good shape and the leather obviously matches

Also should note that cars without a folding rear seat probably have a great chance of perfect fitment

I had trouble finding anyone else with any insight on putting F8x seats into any E9x cars so I assume this is one of the few or the only example. Here are a few photos along with some details for anyone else who may be interested in the future. **NOTE: I assume F82/E92 swaps are the same but my car is an E90

What you need
1- F8x Seats
2- F8x Seat belts ** NOTE: probably dont need these for F82 seats**
3- E9x LCI seat modules
4- E9x spare set of yellow seat connector housings ** or you can hack your harness up/rob them off your old seats **

Brief Notes
1- Direct bolt in
2- Everything works, mem, heat, side airbags etc etc bla bla
3- Driver seat elec pins swap directly from F8x-E9x connector housings
4- Pass seat elec pins swap but need to change a 2-3pins *cant remember which off hand
5- E90 must reclaim F80 belts from their reels and move them to the E90 belt reels, **direct swap but the brackets which bolt to the seat are different**
6- Must use E9x LCI seat modules (Pre LCI will not work nor will the F8x)
7- Use your original seat buckles (these will clip into the yellow connector body housings to match up with your car)
8- Swap airbag connectors this can be by de-pinning **DONT CUT THEM** (these will clip into the yellow connector body housings to match up with your car)

Ive had my car for 6 years now and cant say enough good things about how much better this car feels now with these seats, lower seat position, much tighter feel over E9x seats, an entirely new driving experience with them. Wish I would have done this sooner...

Also wanted to note the rear seats almost entirely fit (havnt decided if I want to swap them though because of the few details which are less than perfect)

-Adam

Yep, and the seat belt bolts to the seat in e90/f80 as opposed to the chassis in e92-3/f82-3 so you would need to block that off (probably could use a cover from an f82-3 though) otherwise yes it would bolt in and you could do it if you dont care about not being able to flip the seat fwd

Added rear seat photos, they work but a few adjustments need to be made beyond my original brief test fit to make them fit the car seamlessly...The seats are currently in the car and semi secure minus the mounting details listed below, still working on correcting the issues and will update later, quick notes for those interested

--Side Bolsters-- The seatbelts are relocated to the top corners in the F8x so a large window is open in these locations (difficult to see but should be trimmed out)
**Mounting issues**
1- only the lower outboard locators are in the correct place, the inside locators need extensions, the upper retainers also need extensions, otherwise the bolster will be held too far back at the top causing a gap between the door frame and bolster

--Lower Seat-- Fits fine just takes a little extra effort to clip in..

--Rear Backrests-- Slightly tighter fit but acceptable and look correct in the car...
**Mounting Issues**
1- Had to remove the top trim/gasket on the bottom of the rear deck surounding the latch assembly to get them to latch because the F80 seat does not have an offset to allow the catch to reach the latch assembly, removing the trim gave enough space to latch but is not as easy to latch as i'd like (might only need a minor adjustment)

2- The side pivots will not work as is from the F8x, the brackets are different and their mounting locations are wider by 1" overall... I removed the brackets and the hardware for the test fit/photos, this allowed them to fit properly but leaves no space for any brackets without modification to the car. The only solution is to remove the inboard gusset from the E9x body mounting locations 16mm must be removed (this can be done without any concern of strength reduction to the mounting location and is the only option) doing this will provide clearance for new brackets and hardware. The center pivot is in the correct position (or close enough)

**I will be making all the parts to correct the issues at least for my own car... if anyone else is interested I can always make more (I have a cnc)... the parts will include the following so far**

-New brackets for the backrests
-Extensions for the side bolsters
