yeah, i've done it a handful of times. every time it happens, i am surprised by it and then realize that i left keys in the valuable pouch along with my phone/wallet/cash. i'm sure golfers know what i'm talking about. some days, you just wanna load up and get heck outta there... LOL.

hope OP took care of his problem.

Another astute observation on the absolute necessity for ALL M3 owners to possess multiple midget clown hookers in the trunk...

It happened to me in my E46 M3... Same scenario, locked my keys in my trunk... Locksmith got into my car and instructed me to unlock it very quickly or else the car will thinks it's being stolen and not crank... I would imagine the e9x m3 has a theft mode as well... Just a cautionary; try to unlock the as quickly as possible once the door has been jimmied open....

If they were conscious, sure.

I was at the driving range when I did this... Put my golf bag in with my key fob and shut the trunk only to realize I forgot to unlock the doors... stupid...

I called bmw assist to set this up but they said it was not available unless you had a 2014 or newer

Whoever you talked to was wrong. I unlocked the doors on my 2011 both via the phone as a test and later via the BMW Assist app when it was released, and I know that that feature is available on all E9x 3s and I believe all E8x 1s. Not sure about the E6x 5s or E46 3s though.

Agreed, service should work on all assist equipped cars, but you need an active subscription
