From F82 to e92

A couple years ago I did a Euro delivery on an M4. It was a beautiful car and I owned it for 2 years. Sadly I never fell in love with it. It's been well documented on this an other sites the lack of "soul" the F82 has. I decided to sell it and go a different route. I ordered the new Ford Raptor and have been driving that around the last 8 months. I've owned other ///M cars before the M4 and found myself continuously watching videos and looking at pictures of e46 and e92 M3s. I had to get an ///M back in the garage. I really wanted either an Imola Red e46 zcp 6mt, or a Melbourne Red e92 zcp 6mt.

Finding clean, low mileage, manual, Red ZCP cars turned out to be harder than I thought. Luckily I did find what I think is a gorgeous e92 M3. I was able to get everything on my list except the carbon roof. But after having the carbon roof in my M4 and the glass moonroof in the M3 I've started to really like having it. So I'm not disappointed at all. Here are the specs-

2011 M3, ZCP, Manual, Melbourne Red 38k miles
Extended Novillo silver leather
Premium package
Competition package
Technology package
Individual Audio
BMW Apps
PDC

Bmw performance exhaust
Akrapovic evolution X pipe
BPM stage 2 tune
Macht Schnell stage 2 intake
Bmw performance carbon grills
Bmw performance carbon splitters
Bmw performance carbon spoiler
Bmw performance alcantara steering wheel
Bmw performance floor mats
F10 shift knob/boot
Aluminum pedal kit
LUX angel eyes
Vorsteiner Vff-103 wheels (original zcp wheels in box)
Paint sealed with Ceramic Pro 5 year

Here is a pic of the M4 and a couple of the M3. I haven't taken many pics and I'm gone on business for a while. I'll take some better photos when I'm back home.

Welcome to the brotherhood!

That's a very unique spec, I don't think I've seen another photo of a MR on PS E9X.

Interestingly I actually wanted an F8X series M car but it was out of my budget for this year

I see more and more people making this move

Driving the E9X M3 is just a special experience each time, that S65 motor with a good aftermarket exhaust, 6MT, and the feel-every-bump hydraulic steering is perfect.

In ~2 yrs, the new M3 will come out with even more powerful turbo motor, there will be nothing memorable about the F8X M3...

RED is my favorite color also, but almost impossible to find. I would definitely have the original ZCPs on the car, but I'm sure you have your reasons. Congrats!

Congrats! Nice find.

Is the akra xpipe and m performance exhaust really loud? Are you running rkp adapters to mate the akra xpipe to the rear exhaust?

The torque of the M4 was occasionally fun. I prefer the feeling and sound of revving the s65 to get power. Since the M4’s torque comes so early I rarely used the higher rpms.

That’s a question I don’t know the answer to. I’m now the third owner of this car. Most of the mods were performed by the second owner who had it much longer than the first. Whatever way is required to pair the two exhaust sections properly is what he did. No expense was spared, he seemed to do things the right way.

I just know it sounds incredible! Coming from the M4 with AWE exhaust that sounded okay at best, this has an almost exotic like shrill as it screams. Not too loud, just right

Very true. I drove an F80 M3 and E90 M3 back-to-back last year when I still had my Z4M and the F80's torque made me into a lazy driver. Also, the roads were wet and the extra torque from the F80 meant that I had to be very careful in applying power. No such problem in the E90. Despite being down on power and torque, that S65 V8 just oozes with character and that exhaust sound is

The last of the true pure M's e9x, I think they will be sought after in the future

Awesome pick up man! Same boat as me. Welcome back!

2015 M3, 2016 M4 ZCP, still never fell in love. After 3 years I'm back in a mint 2011 E92 ZCP with 21k miles.
