No more warranty for DINAN?

So I spoke to someone at my local dealer as I was interested in getting some DINAN mods done, i.e exhaust and tune, and he told me that they are not doing any warranty work for DINAN anymore. Does anyone know what this is about? I believe they aren't doing any installs either...seems a bit odd to me

If they either lost or cancelled their contract with Dinan, they would not be dealing with any warranty issues or installs for Dinan. Only authorized dealers deal in dinan products.......maybe they just decided to get out of it? more hassle than its worth?

It is BMW of Riverside. I just find it strange because they have installed Dinan parts on my E46 in the past, and I would have preferred to stick with them but guess this isn't an option.

BMW and Dinan do not have a relationship anymore since BMW wanted to start their Performance line.
The dealers can still sell Dinan if they want, though it seems most have dropped Dinan.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Really? I had not heard that, and none in my area have dropped Dinan. In fact another is considering becoming certified. I understand the conflict with BMW Perf accessories, but until they start offering a significant catalog, I think a dealer would be foolish to drop Dinan. Then again I don't know the economics of the relationship (i.e. if dealers have to pay something resembling a recurring "franchise" fee to Dinan.)

+1, In fact of the 140 authorized DINAN outlets 100 are BMW delaerships. They did have some dicussions that took place a year ago but seems that things got ironed out. Dunno, would be nice to see something concrete as far as the exact conditions of their relationship.

Century West in Studio City sells and installs Dinan stuff. Talk to Oscar in parts.

Otherwise you can go to Avus Autosport in Glendale. They installed my Dinan exhaust.

As I understand, it doesn't matter if your dealer has contract with them or not ... If you'll bring your car to your local BMW shop, they can fix any issues that you have with Dinan parts and Dinan will pick up the bill if it is still under their warranty ...

I was just in my local dealer getting my latest DCT update and I asked about the Dinan pulley, when it was coming out and would they cover it since I am having anxiety about adding the pulley to the AA tune. He said BMW will no longer be covering Dinan and that the only dealer in our area is a guy who is into modding and doesn't mind what you have done to your car and will work on it and not void the warrenty.
