Am I reading the same articles you guys are posting links to?
MCT is the same automatic tranny MB has been using, with a clutch pack instead of a torque converter. Not anything like an SMG. They can use the term multiple clutch because there are probably 30 clutches in the transmission itself. It should sihift just as fast as a DCT because the premise the DCT uses (disengage one clutch, engage another with gears active on both clutches) is how automatic trannies have always worked.
