you can see how in the second video its trying to replicate a slight jerk/surge when shifting from first to second in the s5 mode.

Not for me: new tech all the way! Had manuals most of my driver's life but time to embrace something new.

Fantastic vids, shifting definitely seems quicker than my SMG-II. Can't wait!

Couple questions for you......
Are there shift light indicators under hard acceleration?
Is there a throttle blip on downshifts?

Thanks for sharing these videos. MDCT shifts faster than I expected. Even in automatic mode the shifts were almost seamlessly. Good Job!

Fifth, yes the shift lights are a warning that you're approaching redline. Similiar to the lights on a F1 car.

When do you get your car?

The shift lights only come on as you approach redline.

Yes, there's a throttle blip on downshift, same as the SMG.

Senior B, after your initial service, I'd like to see a video of launch control in action. Even if you lift before redline in first, I'd be cool so see the initial launch at least to 5 or 6K in first depending on how much you feel comfortable with pushing it.

Feathering the gas pedal. Lifting off just enough to get the tranny to shift

I could see on the video.

Thanks

Thanks so much SMSgt B. We all really appreciate the time and effort. It is great to live vicariously through you. All looks smooth, fast and seamless but it is very tough to really apprecaite the performance (not realistic sound, no feeling of the accelertaion/jerk, shifting at modest rpms, etc.). Not sure how you made the vids but do drive safely. Some vids for us on m3post.com are not worth any damage to your baby. We are all eagerly awaiting the passage of your 1st service to really see some action!

Isn't it absolutely amazing that BMW still has not coordinated some test of a broken in car by journalists? Terrible IMHO.

Cheers again!
