Do dealers lie to you? Cuz I've seen people on Independence II getting their cars already, but my dealer gave me an ETA of the 12th. I still have no word from him yet. And he knows that I like 200 miles away from the dealer, so I won't drive by and check if it is there or not... So frustrating within the last few days!!! No info whatsoever.

I can't believe it, but its in!!!
My dealer just called, and said the car was in and ready to be picked up!!! Now I don't see how it possibly could have gone from the VPC in SC and made it here (Florida) in one day. Is it possible it wasn't on the Independence II? I am pretty sure that's what the dealer told me (so I just tracked the ship by name, not by VIN), but maybe it was on an earlier ship? Has anyone heard of dock to dealer in one day? Or, maybe I'm more important than I think
Now somehow I have to get through work today, but at 4 pm I'll try to get pics up this evening (unless I can't get out of the car) I hope everyone gets theirs just as fast.

Will I seem too desperate if I call my CA like once a day since Wednesday? It seems longer though for me...

semifaba,
I entered the VIN and it says "No tracking information is available..." And I tried searching in all "track by" fields (bill of lading, auto cargo, etc.) Would they delete this after it's off of the ship? Anyway it does seem strange (not that I am complaining) as I went through this same process in 2003 waiting for a MCS to be delivered to Chicago and it took almost 2 weeks from the ship arriving at the port to delivery. I'll ask my dealer if he has any idea when I get there and let you know.

Oh, and don't worry about calling your CA, you are paying them after all and I'm sure you were an "easy sell", so make 'em work!!

But yeah dealer called me and said it has been so late because the transport company wasn't just going to truck 1 car up. They have 5 cars close to finish so they had to wait for them and then truck it at the same time... But I get to see the car tomorrow!! And Delivery on monday!

My car has been released to the trucking company
My CA called and my car which was on the Independence II cleared the Charleston VPC in one day, has been released to the trucking company, but won't be in Dallas until Wednesday.

NICE! It should be a similar story for my car arriving in Chicago. I was supposed to go through the Charleston VPC as well.

So anyway, the car wasn't on the Independence II after all, but made it on the previous ship. My CA was as suprised as I was, he wasn't expecting it for 1-2 more weeks. What was the prior ship? Integrity? I know , but I don't have time, I have to go play with my new toy. Pics tomorrow (too dark now).
Later

No big updates...owners circle shows "at vehicle processing center", which probably means it is almost at the dealer (big delay on website).
My sales manager told me 7-10 daysmax once the car hits the VPC. |
