for now its a feeler because I am looking to sell these wheels, but before I do that, I need to find myself 17x9.5 apex arc-8. Apex is on back order for now. OEM bmw m4 513M wheels in mint condition. 9.5/10 no TPMS included. These were used as my street set. (2) 18x9 et 29 weights 19 lbs (2) 18x10 et40 weights 21.25 lbs They are forged. I just decided to sell them, so I will take closer pictures when I go home. Pick up in LA area. Last edited by AriuSen; 08-26-2016 at 06:26 PM.. |

Curious, I have an M Coupe, same color, and have mixed and matched a few different tire and wheel size combinations.
Why 17x9.5? I'll be down in LA in two weeks, tp possibly meet up if we figure out a deal The max tire is 245/45x17 or 255x40x17. 17x9.5 puts the car into a full SCCA street prepared class, same as your M4 wheels. 18x9.5 takes 275/35 and 255/40x18 all around on the MC, without rubbing with offset out to ET22 or more. Much more rubber on the road than the 17's will allow. My current street wheels are A+ condition SSR Type C 18x9.5 ET22, that are ~2 pounds each lighter than your M4 wheels.

I tried 18x9.5 et 22 with maxxis 265/35/18 and I had crazy amount of rubbing on fender when hitting berms on all four tires. So I immediately sold them cuz my tires were getting destroyed. Now I track with 18x9.5 et 28 plus a 3mm spacer which is perfect, Btw. My fenders are pulled a lot, but they will become my street tires once I get hold of the 17s. The last reason is because since maxxis and nt01 only has 265 or 275 in 18s, I can't lower my car more than what I wanted because it rubs with the spring perch. The 17s with the 255/40/17 will be a little taller. However, I will have no problem at all with rubbing either with fender or spring perch, so I will be able to lower the car half an inch more. Let me know if you are interested when you come to LA! Thx I use to have a theory that more grip the better, but after many track days, I kinda noticed that 275s might be too much for our cars. I might be wrong, but due to the three main reasons I gave you, for me is worth to try.

Ok, got it about the fit and clearance with your ride heights for the track.
I'll be down ~Thousand Oaks this weekend, Fri - Monday if you want to check out trading your set for my SSR 18x9.5et22 all around for your M4 wheels. I'll pay for m&b to swap the tires between our wheel sets and cars. There's a set of SSRs on the lists and EBay 2x17x8 and 2x17x9.5. That would get you two 17x9.5 and I get the 2 17x8. For SCCA Street, 17x8 is allowed. I want to get the weight savings from 18's, with the same effective tread width and better compliance with 245/45x17 than 240x40x18. But the seller is still asking silly prices over $1500, twice what sets of 18's sell for. He's turned down a few requests I made to split the set.
