Akra slip or Innotech or Meistershaft GT

Hey guys,

I can't decide between the 3 exhaust systems. I want something deep and aggressive but can be turned off when I'm not in the racy mood. Akra seems to be the most popular amongst forum peeps but it can't be turned off and isn't very aggressive to start with. Any suggestions guys? I want to hear your opinion.

Thanks,

It sounds like the only reason you included Akra is because it's popular - do you like the sound and/or have you even listened to one, especially in person?

Exhaust selection is too subjective and you need to get what you like. The Akra is an excellent exhaust but...

Based on your requirements I'd recommend the Innotech but, again, do you personally like the sound of their exhaust? If you plan on spending this much money on an exhaust don't base it just on the reults of the poll, factor in your own personal preference - they are all great exhausts. Good luck!

I have a Meisterschaft GT on my E92 and it's more of a higher-pitched/edgier/semi-exotic sounding exhaust (which is what I wanted) and possibly a little less deep/bassy than the others, though I haven't heard them in person. It's possible to keep it somewhat quiet when you're not hammering on it. Note that there's some drone around 2500-3000 RPM, which is about highway cruising speed. Other than that, I love it.

Meisterschaft does make an electronically valve-controlled exhaust called the "GTC", which allows you to adjust the volume if desired, and it's a different design from the GT that yields a slighty deeper sound from what I understood in speaking to GTHAUS.

I believe the Akrapovic has a little more of a subdued sound, and the Innotech a little more "raspy"/E46-sounding from the videos I've seen.

If you're looking for something that can be "turned off" then I think our GTC exhaust would be perfect for you. It can go from stock sounding to wild sounding

Video for demonstration.

Gthaus gave me a demo at MFest. Volume ranged from medium-loud loud growl to where-are-my-earplugs-f***-that's-loud raw blast. Oh it tempted me, but I had to think of my neighbors.

Depends what you are looking for in a exhaust really.

The akra, has the cleanest sound to it, no rasp and has a deep agressive tone. Its not that much louder than stock but sounds great

GT exhaust has a exotic semi raspy sound to it, is very 'loud' that is the best i can describe it.

Innotech F1, (personally) i was possibly going to get this exhaust, loved it, sounds incredible, very raspy, with the valvetronic closed it isnt half as loud so you get the best of both worlds.

The best way you can know what you want, is by going to a few different people on m3post and seeing who has what system and then going to see them to hear it in person.

Another option for you is quite nice, which I may do for myself, Get the Eisenmann Race which has a nice deep agressive tone to it, slight drone apparently.

Then to make it a tiny bit raspier/louder, put a Challenge X pipe on it.

There are quite a few, Race, Race+, Street, Sport i believe so you have to see which one works out best for you.

Here are a couple of links with the Eisenmann and different challenge x pipe versions

here is the Eisenmann Race with Challenge Race+ X pipe, similar sounds to the innotech and a lot cheaper!

Innotech is 6200$ so its around half the price for the above setup.

Whatever you decide, don't let a video be the deciding factor. Exhausts never sound the same on video as in person.

I had Akra EVO, I really really liked it except the cold start. It is too loud for me as a daily car. I swapped to iPE F1 while the valve is closed. It is 30 ~ 40% louder than stock. With it open, OMG. Both are excellent exhaust, EVO is an excellent setup and has a more stockish sound + it's deeper in sound overall. iPE is very high pitch. Screams at high RPMs. Good luck!

You just contradicted yourself. You got rid of the Akra cause it was too loud but the Innotech is louder than the Akra???

I can't stand the loudness every single minute when I am driving. That is why I picked iPE. Akra compare with iPE F1 closed valve. Akra is louder.

Truth. It's best to hear them in person to get the real sound. Videos can give a decent general idea though.

Innotech is the best bang for the buck IMO

It sounds fantastic and you get "2" exhausts in one. One to keep the neighbors happy and the other for you, so you can let it rip

To the comment above mine, the thread that you are referring to did not completely explain the whole story.

As for it being a "Tiawan knock off" mine fit 100% no adjustments needed (even for the hangers) and the quality for the whole system overall was just as good as the others out there. Don't forget to throw in the fact that it doesn't require the extra 300 dollar Delete R either...

I agree with you, but didnt innotech come out with their pipes after Kreissieg? and besides, a knockoff doesnt mean it wont fit. A replica Amuse body kit will fit just as good as an authentic. that isnt what distinguishes knockoff from authentic. Again, this is what Ive seen on comparisons both on this forum and on independent websites. but hey, If I can get the iPE for half the price of kreissieg and get the same sound I like using Valvetronic, then why would I spend double to get the same thing? makes no sense.
