Personally, I wanted the Broncos to beat the pants off the Hawks BUT I saw "doom" written all over the game for the Broncos right after the first snap. NEVER saw anything like that in pro-football before.

WTF!!!???

A safety, 2 field goals and 2 INTs and 2 TDs later, the Broncos were down 22-0 at the half. It was still "possible" for the Broncos to come back, but the kick return for the touchdown making it 29-0 at the start of the 3rd quarter essentially put the game away and I stopped paying attention. The extra 14 points were just icing on the cake and all the Hawks had to do was run time off the clock. Game over.

Big congratulations to the seahawks! That D is just monstrous, and that's an understatement. D played better in the superbowl when it counted most, if playing better was even possible.

I've always felt that the hawks bring the D. The deciding factor in winning or losing is what the O brings to the game that day. On superbowl sunday, both sides brought it.

For you niner fans, the one bright spot is how poorly Manning played the hawks' D on a neutral field. Should make us feel better about Kaep's play. Not only does Kaep not have Manning's experience, but Kaep played on seattle's home turf. It doesn't look as bad now as it did before the super bowl

FWIW, I was not impressed w/Kaep's play in the NFC Championship game. Throwing into double coverage on FIRST and 10 against the self-proclaimed "best cornerback" in the NFL? What did he expect? He had 3 more downs to try to win the game but risked it all on FIRST and 10.

Who's call was THAT?

Yeah, I heard him say he'd do it again because Crabtree's his "man", but it wasn't smart. Don't think I can blame that "call" on the coaches, as I do the failure of the 9ers to score on 3 downs from the 5 yard line in last year's SuperBowl, but Kaep has to be smarter than THAT! Throw the f*cking ball away, dump it off or run (which he does best) and try again would have been the smarter thing to do and he didn't need Manning's experience to figure that out.

Kaep had an incredible opportunity to establish himself as a premier quarterback in the NFL in the past 2 years, but instead he has now FAILED to finish and win a Superbowl and, if he had won this year's NFC Championship game, possibly 2. So, IMHO he has A LOT to prove before I'll ever consider him deserving of being compared with Manning (let alone Montana or Young) or any other truly great NFL quarterback who's proven his mettle over the years.

Frankly, IMHO, if he (and the 49ers) are fortunate enough to get back to the NFC Championship game and/or SB again (which is far from guaranteed, given how the Hawks have handed it to us in the past couple of years), he better WIN those games or we should be looking to draft or trade for another quarterback who can.

I'm not saying Kaep made didn't bad decisions. He did, but he's also young. He has 1.5 seasons as a starter. I was only saying when you compare Peyton's body of work when compared to Kaep's, and then look at how each played against the might seahawk defense, then Kaep's bad game doesn't look "as" bad. This is relative. I'm not saying he had a good game, just that it wasn't as bad as it seemed at that time. Look at how Peyton faired. Also have to remember peyton played on a neutral field. Kaep did not.

As far as this being off-topic, well you are late to this thread. This is my thread. It started as the *original* niners thread, but got so off-topic with seahawk talk that I changed it to a seahawk thread

Golden tate just came out and said he'd take less money to stay in seattle. I knew a few guys would do this. Curious to see who else will.

not like tate is going to break the bank on the open market. he has more value to the seahawks than to other teams

I agree but a lot of talking heads and perhaps his agent could try and convince him otherwise.

I've felt all along that Tate would be the 2nd most likely to leave the offsense this year, with Rice being #1.

I also think that free agents in general, not just tate, are coached by their agents (if they have good ones) to say the right thing to the media. Saying they'd be willing to take less to stay home goes much further in aiding your cause than to say you want to break the bank.

Noted: 49er talk is not 'off topic" here. Edited my prior post accordingly.

yup. 1.5 hours from Bellevue, and I took smart routes. Had to park near W. Seattle Bridge @ Airport Way and hike all the way in. Totally worth it though!

Will post pics later.

Looks like a great parade! Brings back memories of the parade we had for the Saints, crazy crowds but a great time...

By coincidence, I was in Seattle last September on the 15th when the Hawks were playing the 49ers there.

Looks like the parade went thru Pioneer Square, past Union Station & Chinatown to the field. Had a heck of a time finding a parking place in Chinatown which is very close to CenturyLink Field. Can just imagine how hard it was to park anywhere near there during the parade.

Enjoy it while it lasts, Seattle fans. Everyone will be gunning for your team next year.

I'm calling it now: Seahawks Three-Pete.

Conventional wisdom surely dictates something(s) happen to derail the Hawks, if nothing besides luck at some point.

I say with the talent, youth, back-office genius, and coaching in place, I don't see another team challenging the Hawks next year at all and maybe not even the next.

In the lexicon of football and the Super Bowl, the "Three-Pete" shall have its place in history!!!

Let's make a bet. You put money that the Seahawks win the Superbowl and I'll bet that they don't. How much?
