WTB: LCI E90 M3 6MT - Red
Hi all, I've been looking for months, but then who doesn't? These cars are pretty small production numbers when compared to most of what you see on the road. The Must Haves: - E90 - 6MT (no disrespect to DCT, but I am not budging on this) - Red - Not a 2008 - Nav (my wife likes the toys) The Want-to-Haves: - ZCP (or at least ZCP wheels/359's) The "Now you're getting ridiculous" Dream-to-Haves: - Speed Cloth |

There were only 126 MR E90s imported for 2009-2011 model years. 6MT runs about 28% of E90s, so figure approximately 35 cars to choose from?

Best of luck in your search. It took us about a year to find the spec that we wanted.
Black Leather 6 speed MR Unfortunately due to the low production numbers, LCI were damn near impossible to find hence why we had a 2008. I was going to do the LCI update but sadly SOLD the car for my Frozen Grey sedan. They are out there but it's definitely a needle in a hay stack. Best of luck

OP, I know you're not budging on 6MT but I saw this one local to me. 2011 MR with Nav, but not ZCP or 6MT. No EDC either...if that matters. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...&modelCode1=M3 |

Wow, I had not seen that one. Thanks! Even though I am stuck on a manual transmission, this is why I posted a WTB thread - there is always something out there that one may not have seen.
Still searching. I'll be patient for as long as I can. Eventually I might have to settle for another color Quote:

Santa did not come through with a red E90 M3 6MT, but to be fair I am asking for something more rare than an iPhone. If anyone out there with one is thinking about selling theirs, PM me - thanks!

Still looking for that unicorn. Sorry to DCT owners, but I can't budge on the manual transmission requirement.
EDIT: forgot to mention that mods are fine, except forced induction. Is your car red and a 6MT? If so and you are considering selling, contact me! Thanks. Last edited by cognoscenti; 01-04-2017 at 01:19 PM.. |

you sure you don't want forced induction?
Mine is exactly what you're looking for, but 2008 with LCI conversion. Just passed 50k miles. ESS-550 has been on since 37k miles. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...6&postcount=70 as mentioned.. it's going to be very hard to find an LCI 6MT Melbourne Red E90.. I did the LCI swap for around 1200 with parts and paint, it's not too bad. Old idrive doesn't bother me since I use my phone for music. |

That's a beautiful E90, kerrit! The red on black also reminds me of a CBR 600 I owned years ago - many happy memories. I'll have to think about how firm I am on the "no blowers" search criteria...

It's pretty amazing how well 2008 models have held pricing power. I also find it amazing how tight the market is for the entire range from 2008-2011.75 to some extent.
As an example, five years ago this month I almost bought a MR 2008 E90 M3 with 42k miles on it (6MT, slicktop, tech package, heated seats, etc). It was at a dealership in Florida and had been driven by the owner of the dealership since new. They had it priced at $36k, and a brief phone call quickly resulted in a $35k price. This was five years ago, 2012. I decided to hang tight and look at newer M3s, but if I had bought that car, I'd probably have 62k miles on it today, and total depreciation would be? $7k maybe? My decision ended up costing me a year's time hunting for a slicktop 6MT 2011.5/2011.75 with the options I wanted. In the end I found one with 16k miles in as-new condition, never in bad weather, always garaged, etc. I paid $19k more than that 2008 would have cost me with the piece of mind of 2 years factory warranty left plus 2 more years CPO. Of course my M3 had ZERO warranty claims and ZERO CPO warranty claims during that time. In fact, it's never had an issue since it was new other than needing a new battery a couple of months ago. ...just wish I could have found it in MR, IB or LMB.

I wasn't initially, but once I decided to open up my search, I wanted to buy the newest, lowest mileage, best condition E90 LCI M3 I could find. Updated iDrive with updated bluetooth (i.e. streaming), LCI, etc.

Ok, possibly the LAST CHANCE here. I am in negotiation to buy an M3, and a relatively small difference stands between me and a purchase. If anyone has a red M3 that they think they might want to sell, now is the time to PM me or reply here. Deadline is tomorrow afternoon (01/16/2017), EST.
Thanks for looking! |
