AC compressor replacement

Has anyone replaced their AC compressor and dryer and can share or point me to a DIY guide? I can't find any info specific to an S65 motor.

Thanks!

I'd recommend you check out newtis.info

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...epair-manuals/

It's about 4-6 hour job, involves removing radiator fan and removing some coolant hoses and draining the coolant. You'll also need your Freon pulled and replaced IIRC. Was kinda PITA even with a lift.

Thank you, this is very helpful.

It look like a very involved process but it sure beats the $2700 quote I got from the dealership. Fortunately I have a lift, should make it a little easier on my back. Thanks again.

I'm about to tackle this job myself, but it looks tight from the top just accessing the 3 compressor bolts to the engine block. Access from the bottom of the car looks even more difficult. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks

You have to access 2 bolts from the bottom and 1 from the top. There's enough room to get the compressor out once the radiator is removed.

Denso Installation Instructions

I bought a new Denso compressor from ECS Tuning for a very sweet $318 on Black Friday. It came today and looks great.

However, as you can see from the instructions, there is some mandatory work to do to check the lubrication level and replace the o-rings. Mine did not come with the o-rings they describe.

Is this a generic document that does not apply to our specific model here, or am I missing some important parts?

Thanks!
