Just give us the seats and engine... that's all I ask for. I will trade in my '08 M3 coupe in less than a heartbeat

Nice! This is the M3 I was waiting for! Sort of...
Still, there are a few things I dont like.
The worst thing about this car is the Nav system! Why BMW... WHY! This is an M3! This is a fun to drive car! I do like technology, but if I want a M3 with a nav system, I would go for normal M3. The other one is DCT. I know DCT is great, but again. This is an M3. This is an Ultimate Driving Machine! Especially for this lightweight M3. I would like manuel better. But the navigation is the worst. I might can stand DCT, but not navigation. You guys can just give the buyers a free iPhone with the navigation app and it is way lighter than that huge screen!

Is it just me or does it look like they upgraded the angle eyes to LED a la 2011 E92/E93? Seems like they would have mentioned it in the press release if they did?

This car is worthy of a special edition designation with it's engine and weight savings.Love the upgrades!

My question to BMW is why go through all the weight saving measures and then turn around and add a high end audio and nav? Is the roof made of the same materials as the hood?

My guess is they could have saved another 100lbs by binning the DCT,nav extra speakers,amps/wiring..

A simple short shifting precision 6speed manual with an alcantara shifter would have fit the car nicely.

Got the wheels already, now all I need is the front splitter and that rear spoiler. Not sure about those seats. I still want to be comfortable when I'm driving, don't need to feel like I'm in a ALMS car everytime I go to the market. That alacantara steering wheel looks nice too.

Well, I think this deserves the special edition name more than the many other pathetic attempts. That being said, I think it is a half-ass, confused attempt... If you're gonna make it lightweight, don't put nav or enhanced audio as standart (make it an option, like GT3 RS). I can understand the DCT, at least that has some performance benefits, but nav, really?

In anyways, 100lbs is just pathetic. Full akrapovic system and Recaro seats will give you that much... They could do better.

I'm not following what is done here to be considered special. Chineese aftermarket companies can do carbonfiber as well..

Some people can lose a 100 pounds on their body... Not that impressed with the weight savings

this is the best attempt bmw has made at a special edition, it should be stick but its still the best ive seen them do other then the gts, not gonna lie, even if im buying a gt3, i want the navi, it doesnt add that much more weight to bother me, its already a heavier car, your getting more power, some amazing options as in the power increase, coils, interior, this hasnt been done to this extent yet, and ive gotta say this is a good job so far

Looks like the standard intake system is good enough for the 4.4L.What does that say about aftermarket intake systems
