Can we use auto blip?

Excuse my rookieness but is this gadget compatible with our cars? Don't see why not... I was a passenger on a vette yesterday that had one and performed amazingly well. Made the driver look like a hero.

Doesn't your Vette have that built in from the factory? Mine does.

I auto blip the throttle on every downshift. It's second nature to me now. No conscious thought required.

+1. It's one of the joys of driving a manual. I would say just practice on the streets and then it will become more natural/second nature on the track.

One of my older videos where I have a foot cam. May or may not help you OP.

the people that like doing it themselves have a manual, and the guys that have a dct do it on command.

Heel/toe, I know, I get it, I do it too, but it sure is nice when the car does it for you and faster. Used to do it on bikes as well until the slipper clutch came in, etc. I don't think it would make me enjoy my 6spd any less, if anything maybe more. Btw, nice video, thank you for that.
Anyway, I'll pull on the string and let you guys know what I find on the other end.

This sounds interesting. It could work well on the race cars we run

My thoughts exactly. Turns out one guy in these forums already installed one a while back with no issues. I like that you can program it, one less thing to think about has to be a move in the positive direction.

Oh my word, dude that's friggin amazing footwork there . True heel/toe work happening...and the camera set-up was great to capture the feet, back view and front ..do you still race that car ? Is it a DD and have you had RB done ?

Again, so fun to watch I'd like to follow you on IG

Cheers,
Merlin

No IG, I still track the car occasionally. I use it primarily for that purpose now. I have not done RB on the second engine. I had the 1st engine grenade a couple yrs back.

Thanks for the feedback

I did find that old post. Wrote the guy and he reported good things. I should have the box by Thursday and should be able to install it before my nccar track day this upcoming Saturday. Pretty straight forward install so I should be able to tell whether if works or not right away.

The auto blip device will only work for the 2008 M3's. I've got a 2008 and have been thinking of getting this for track use

That's what the auto blip guy said when we spoke. But he also said that they installed on a 2010 and it worked . So no way of telling but to actually do the install. He said that for E9x M3 crowd that he would refund 100% if it doesn't work on your car. So call him first if you decide to try this or if you want to go to him they can take care of everything.

He made reference of the mid model update and that there seems to be a difference in the pedal assembly. I think the pedal is fine, but that they might be a software difference starting on May 08 cars.

My car is an 04/08 build so in theory it should work.

That is some very nice footwork. I found that it was harder to do w/race boots b/c they are narrower than tennis shoes. I always liked Vans for their wide, smooth flat sole.

Here's the outcome:

Install is pretty straight forward, put the controller in the ashtray. After calibration it worked right away, press brake and clutch pedals the throttle blips. Up to you how much blip and how soon you want it. Driving around town, there's really no need for it other than playing with the settings to find out what works for you.
On track, a world of difference for me, gave me one less thing to think about. When I do heel/toe, I still every once in a while mess a shift here and there, with the gizmo I miss no more inasmuch as long as I don't try to shift into 2nd instead of 4th as this is not rev match like more and more cars are coming out now.
Case in point is that yesterday I got to drive a M2 on track and the rev match feature let me stab a lot of brakes while shifting from 4th to 2nd with no drama.

My final impression is that I'm glad it worked in my car, and will be an extremely useful tool in my future endeavors.
