If you're on FB, check out the nolabimmers page. You may have to join to get access but they hold meets and are a good group though most own older BMW's...

For anybody interested, some guys are planning a very informal meet this Sat (8-11am) in City Park. We will be in the parking lot by Morning Call. This is primarily some folks with older BMW's (my wife has a '74 2002 Tii) but I'll bring my M3 out as well...

Can any of you NOLA guys suggest a shop other than Peake for an oil change? Peake wants over 250 to do it.

I bring my M to Greff Motors on Airline highway. Will have to pull the paperwork to see what they charged but as I recall it's not that much less than what Peake charges. Nine quarts at roughly $13 per, plus a filter at $20 (ECS pricing) and an hour of labor (assume $90/hr) gets you to $227. Greff uses Liquid Moly and I have been pleased with it so far but I suspect they could use what ever oil you prefer...

You can get liquid moly for about $9/liter on Amazon and it's not really hard to change the oil yourself. Over $200 seems like a lot. I'd personally would never pay someone that much for an oil change, but on the other hand I wouldn't do it for anyone else for that little.

If I had a garage where I could work on the car I'd probably do it myself but where I live we park on the street. Not putting my car up on a jack or ramps on a tight, one lane street to save a few bucks. Like you, my time is worth more than that to me so I don't complain about other folks charging me for their time...

Catholic High. He's been sick so he'll just be coming back this weekend as well. I'll be out there Saturday. Just look for the guy on crutches.....haven't driven my car in over 2 months now. Lol
