how is the mag ride on the track? pretty decent, or does it leave a lot to be desired? does it have the same limitations that our edc has where it just can't be good enough to replace better valving?

The mag ride is miles ahead of our stock edc
Like miles upon miles lol

But it can't handle a crazy aero package what so ever lol
But that's no fault of the shocks

I only had two objectives for students when I instructed:

1) Don't hurt me.

2) Obey me.

I was a softy.

In Spain right now and went to a trackday at Motorland, guess it's a MotoGP track. Amazing facilities, so much run off area, I haven't been to COTA but I imagine it's a similar feel. I just did passenger laps with a friend in his GT3. Serious cars out here, standard was GT3RS and GT2RS, but had a Senna, a 918, 720S, 458, etc.

Track

I'll take this blue one please.

Oh hey

Buddy's car was rad. Love the color.

It's outstanding. The way GM ties it into everything else via PTM (Performance Traction Management) just makes it a very well-rounded package.

The fact that they even continue releasing updates to it that are backwards compatible, and even have a special "rough surface" version for lower-quality race track paving, makes it that much better. Remember that it's licensed out to Ferrari, Audi, and others, so clearly a good setup.

I'm curious about that Camaro ZL1 1LE's Multimatic DSSV shocks though too, they sound equally as capable.

Got the CAE shifter installed and SOLO2 DL wired up for the track season. Pretty excited about how notchy it is. The SOLO2 was pretty easy to set up with all the channels from the ECU.

Ready for Motorsport Ranch Cresson next weekend. Going from 600lb springs up front to 450/400lb springs and adding aero. I actually had lower corner speeds than before the roll cage with the 600lb springs because the car refused to turn.

Hoping this makes it better.

Also, putting my max aero package on...

Seems like a low amount for springs on a track car? When I had my E46 I was 700lbs on the street and track. But I guess that depends on your shocks too. Interested to hear how it compares to your previous set up

Plus when adding aero you typically increase the spring rate as the aero will be pushing down on the car.

Stiffer isn't always better (that's what she said!).

Sorry, couldn't resist. I've taken out about 400 lbs net of the roll cage and it was understeer city with 600lb front springs. The car was terrible in the wet or bumpy tracks and was brutal on a wet bumpy track. The only way to get it to turn in was to trail brake hard and deep.

I'll find out if this works in a week!

Sorry that I'll miss you next weekend. I've been hanging out with your other buddy, Daniel, with the Driver's Edge a bunch. Back at Cresson in May with BMW.

Just did this during lunch break. Swapped to flat bottom because it's faster.

Welp, I signed up for SCCA Track Night in America at MSR Cresson tomorrow. Advanced group was waitlisted so I had to take intermediate. Fingers crossed people aren't going full-retard in that group like I hear so many horror stories about.

Might have let the brake pads get a bit too low...

I'm pretty sure that's how I boiled my SRF... took a set down way too low. Swapped these out after a generous cool down lap and a water break and I still burned a finger.
