recaro pole position height issue

Hi everyone,

I installed a recaro pole position with recaro side mounts in my car. I have the seat on the highest position but I still cannot see over the instrument cluster. Attached photo is what my view looks like. I’m like 5’9” so a bit surprised. Any ideas on ways to raise the seat up even higher? I’ve been looking at these side mounts that seem to give more height options:

Thanks!

Are you floor mounted? Take a pic of how you have the seat mounted.

Switch to BK mount with stock sliders. That setup will put you about an inch lower than stock.

Trying to find something that can come in this weekend since I have a track event next weekend. Any ideas if this would work?

Isn't by using highest level for the front bolt you actually lowering your head? Try the lowest in front, I think you just tilted your seat backwards. Personally I would not recommend sliders, had it for years and they add extra movements and less butt feeling of the car.

you can make spacers to between the bracket and the floor. when I installed sportsters into my cousins m5 we just designed the spacers in CAD and had them cut from billet. search around locally and see if there is anyone who can do this for you

Thanks everyone for your help! I got some extra height side rails from PCI so all is good now! What a difference the seat makes.

VR1, nice work getting the seat placement in a good place for you!

Actually finding the race seat that fits your ass and shoulder height, plus the correct combination of floor mounts, sliders, side mounts, etc. is hard because you can't easily and blindly calculate what the whole assembly will feel like before actually buying stuff online (for most people) and actually trying it out.

Which PCI mounts did you go with?

Also, I think it would be beneficial to the community for you to add your setup and details (seat/mount parts plus your body type-height-size-waist) to the big race seat thread=
