Euro bumper

Anyone get a euro front bumper recently? Which did you go with? How did the paint match go? I need one eventually and figure about $1000 all in for a replica bumper. My only concern is quality SSII paint job.

IND still sells OEM euro bumpers with the option to paint match. I would imagine they would have the best quality paint match, outside of using a local painter.

And with SSII I would not expect the match to be well at all. Most local shops will need to have the car present to match the paint as best as they can.

I got a replica from ECS and the fit is very good. No complaints

Compared to the US bumper, isn't the only difference no reflectors? If so, I'm guessing it's cheaper to do as I did: have a local paint shop fill the reflector openings when I needed to repaint the US bumper, which seems to be every couple of years. I did the same on my e46 M3.

Agreed. In my case though front bumper is drilled for plate and multiple rock chips in paint. Nothing that needs urgent attention but thought I would start fresh when I fix these issues.

Nah they're actually in really good condition. Front bumper isn't bad either except for the plate holes and chips in bumper lip. I think this will wait until spring at this point though and I'll probably get OEM painted from IND to make sure it's perfect.

Transfer , let me know what you end up doing (whether , IND or local).

My front bumper looks like it went through hell with all the rock chips I've accumulated and I'm thinking going euro is the way to go

how do you suppose IND will match the paint better than a local shop that will have your car present? IND will use the SSII paint code (just like any good local shop will), but if your car is off a tad from paint fade, it won't match.

my vote is to get an OEM euro bumper and take it to Haurys or Metropolitan.

I just ordered one through a dealer, it was around the same price as IND, but more headaches.

With SSII I would Have it painted at a shop so they can try to match your silverstone because it’s a hard color to get right.

Hmm... I didn't think U.S. BMW dealers could order non U.S. spec parts. I believe the item numbers show up, but they're blocked.

I plan on getting an OEM Euro bumper in the near future and have it painted locally. Instead of leaving the car, I'll take the fuel door off and have them match it to that.

BMW has good control over colors at the factory compared to many other manufacturers. For example, a Toyota with code 1g3 has about 12 different formula variations of the same color. BMW will have maybe 3 variations per color code, much easier to match.

Just got a Mod Bargains bumper. Fit is alright for the price. Needed to be paint matched to the car and blended right. Unless the car is brand new, probably no option for pre-painting body parts.

Came out great!

Trust me. That still will not be an exact match

I ordered OEM from iND a few years ago and had a local shop paint (Mineral White). They blended with the fenders and the Hood was replaced at the same time. (A pickup truck backed into me resulting in a new hood, bumper. The guy wanted to give me $100 bucks instead of going through insurance lol)

They’ll order it with a vin, I used to work for a dealer.

Many dealers won’t do it because you have to fill out a form and send it to BMW national.
