engine cleaning question

Do i need to remove the cover under the engine when i spray it down? or is it ok to leave it on ? any other tips on cleaning engine bay will be nice

I have no idea what cover you're talking about. FWIW, with my M3 I just rinse the engine bay without taking anything off or covering anything up.

I think he means the plastic underbody panel..?

There's no engine cover on top; it's the chamber for the throttle bodies. If you want to spray water into the engine, it's easier to just remove the airbox and stick your garden hose thru the intake .
