Do you folks recommend a 500 mile oil change after installing the BE bearings, followed by regular 5k intervals?

The shop that did mine had me change just the filter after the first 50 miles, then oil and filter after 500. I examined my oil closely after the 50 and found lots of small black particles in the filter and oil. Talked to VAC and was told that some coating particulate in the first change was normal. After the 500 mile change they were gone.

Take some "worn out bearings" and measure them installed in a rod. You'll be surprised that although they look very worn out the dimensions of them haven't changed more than a few 10th's compared to new bearings.

VAC dont really give extra clearance they just open the bearing up to accommodate for the coating

For anyone who has had BE bearings installed: does the extra clearance make the motor feel any different? More or less smooth, noisier or quieter, etc? I am just curious since essentially these bearings open up the tolerance to almost twice what OEM has them at.
Right now I am undecided between BE and WPC...would love to hear from the BE crowd. Thanks! GM |

Good feedback, also worth noting is that every shell is hand measured and binned before shipping. No other bearing for the S65 can claim that.
