Rubbing compound is the most abrasive, then polish.
I would always try polish first, If the scratches are light try polish first. If you do go with rubbing compound, then follow it with polish to remove the light scratches that the rubbing compound left than follow up with a wax. Please note that scratches do not just disappear sometimes you gotta rub it hard with the polish just like when you were single. Just don't rub it too hard with the rubbing compound, its a bit like sand paper depending on the brand you get. 3m rubbing compound I have used seems less abrasive than the cheap turtle wax rubbing compound. I have used Quixx scratch repair before and if you follow the instructions it works well. Depending on the depth of the scratch it teaches you the steps and has everything included including even wet sanding paper if needed. It can be found at your local Autozone etc. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=63206_0_0_ Last edited by Sinful; 09-19-2014 at 08:23 PM.. |

Obviously you have never had a custom install performed on one of your cars, have you? The door cup coverage isn't even priced. It's typically a given, freebie, with custom installs.

My point is, you don't need to install a nasty stupid clearbra inside your door handles. Take a drop of megs105 and hand polish it out. That clearbra is an eyesore to look at. |

When done right, the only way to see the film on dark paint would be very close with sunlight reflecting at just the right angle. Lighter colors make it much more noticeable.

Wetsand with handle taken off to remove scratched clearcoat. Then you can clear bra it. Lot of work for a daily driver.
I don't think my gf has ever touched my door handle because I always open it for her. Only recently did I think of the side benefit of this. |
