Summit Point video

This is a from a Friday at the Track last week. There was a black E90 in another group and a white and a grey E92 in my group (but I pretty much never saw them on track). A whole mess of corvettes. There were some not so great drivers out there, which kept things interesting. I found myself hanging back a bit in corners as the day went on. A Lotus had an off but I think that was the only misadventure.

It was 95 degrees and the track definitely got a little slicker as the day wore on. I was out for the first time on Yoko AD08s and carbotech xp10s. Feel like I have a few issues to sort out - the brakes pulsed a little, so I may not have bedded them very well. I was still adjusting throughout the day about how late and how hard I could brake. Big improvement over stock. The AD08s were new, felt a little slippery. After the 3rd session I checked the pressure again and they were at 42 in the back 40.5 in the front. I let a little air out and they felt better for the 4th session. Also the steering felt vague, less planted at speed, so I think I may get a fresh alignment. Otherwise, a lot of fun. I let a corvette around me that was well driven and caught up to me in light traffic, but that was it.

Guy driving the grey E92 got black flagged for something, I don't know what.

how do you embed video?

hopefully I'll post the rest of the footage in HD. still figuring out how to do this.

Cool vids. Thanks for sharing.

To embed a youTube vid:
1. determine the video id. First find the URL for your video. It should look like:
Code:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KHrzJjp9JQ&feature=channel
. The video ID is the part after "v=", up until the ampersand. In this case, it is _KHrzJjp9JQ.

2. click the youTube button when you're posing a message. That should produce a
HTML Code:
[INVALIDYOUTUBE][/INVALIDYOUTUBE]
tag. Within the U2B tag, include put the video id. So in the end you should have:

HTML Code:
[u2b]_KHrzJjp9JQ[/u2b]
Note: the youTube tag should be uppercase, U2B.

Hope this helps.

Nice!

Send me a PM next time you want to go, I'll come too. Although some of the other drivers looked pretty bad - is FATT pretty much a free-for-all, no running groups?

I'm going this weekend with TrackDaze on Shenandoah - have you ever been there?

I wish! I have 3 little kids, so my weekends are most definitely not my own for a couple more years. Friday off from work is about the best I can do.

I'm going again on 10/22, this time in the advanced group.

FATTs have 3 run groups - two novice, one advanced. I was novice, which explains the driving (mine and theirs ) but was signed off for solo. there were several spectacularly bad drivers this time - most noticeably that blue corvette.

There's nothing worse than being stuck behind a badly driven Z06...they have enough grunt on the straights to think that they are faster than you all the way around...

I feel your pain - I have a 7 yo and at this age him and his mom can definitely do some fun, hassle-free things on weekends so dad can go and shake the dust off the car...

I'll see if I can go too.

Do novices have instructors? (Not that I'd go in the novice groups, but I'm curious).

A good instructor should instruct the Z06 driver when he needs to get out of the way.

lol about the Z06s. there were a lot of them. in front of me in one group was a supercharged Calloway - 600 hp. I never caught that guy!

all novices have instructors. I am signed off for advanced but wanted to run novice with a friend (and also bc of the new tires and new brakes). so they let me go without an instructor. people who are new to the advanced group are also required to take an instructor at first. It wd be great to see you on the 22nd.

I know this might set a record for bringing a thread back from the dead, but I came across it while looking for info on embedding youtube videos and since I have a Summit Point video I figured...why not:

I see Summit Point does these Friday at the Track events.

Since some odd reason Summit Point does not participate in Track Night in America, is it basically like Track Night in America but called "Friday at the Track"?
