Rust Prevention?

I noticed some rust forming under my M3. Should I be concerned at all?

I live on the west coast so it shouldn't get much worse but I feel like I should at least try and minimize the growth while it's still minor.

Anybody else deal with this?

See the pics I attached.

Surface corrosion on the subframe. I powder coated mine because of this.

How has the powder coat held up? Stopped it from growing?

I’m not sure the process but the surface rust is removed. My underbody was coated in certain spots with por15 to avoid corrosion also.

How much did that cost? If you don't mind me asking.

Thanns

That's good to hear so I have a comparison. I'll probably do the same to be honest. Thanks

You got the subframe r&r for $250? Or the $250 just for the powder coat and you diy the r&r?

Have an x5 I might need this for the rear subframe so I’m curious.

The subframes on these cars are very poorly painted from the factory. You can see rust on them when they're brand new from the dealer.

Yeah, I'm not overly concerned as this is the only rust besides the differential I can find. I'm probably just going to prep it then POR 15. Hopefully it turns out good.

Every E9X or E9XM I've seen in Canada has had rust like this on the sub-frame, it's just surface rust.
