I'm not there yet, but a well machined piece is one less item I need to have made.
I haven't spent any time under the hood of my car, other than to look at the overall scene and go "oooh!", so I didn't know there was an SAP on the S65 motor. I remember those were on the E36, and SAP delete was a great initial mods, along with the M52 manifold swap and ASC delete. Why do you say its "essential for street application", and how difficult is it to delete?
"Essential" because it's part of the emissions system and therefore throws a CEL if removed without coding it out. Any of the stage 2 tunes will likely ignore the code and remove the CEL from the dash. But for an emissions OBD test it will show as "not ready". Depending on the state this may cause failed emission compliance.

Removing it all together is very cumbersome and best done with the engine out as it tightly against the firewall and thus limited access. I'm sure it's been done without removing, search on the forum.

put the car on the dyno today to get some baseline numbers. Alpine stage 2 93 oct, BW x pipe with HFC, BW rear section, underdrive pulleys, and a AA filter. 402HP/306TQ

Worked on my project and test fitting my catch can and building a custom bracket.

Been working on the relocation bracket this week. Almost got it right. Need some small adjustments on the male end clip but spacing is right on between the can and the washer fluid tube. Next will be building mounting points for the catch can and making it look not so much like a brick

Looks good but guys running a Harrop wouldn't be able to use that mounting solution as that is nearly identical to the mount for the washer filler and intercooler reservoir on Harrop kits.

It is very limited space for a catch can and though there are other options I feel it's the best spot for the bigger picture. The plates still would work for all SC cars and other options could be made for those with Harrop SCd cars

Will be making a separate bracket for the ESS chargers as well.

She lives and breathes much easier today. Over the next few weeks we will be running some tests and so on.

a repeat post from "what did you do to your M3 today" but just wanted to keep the info in a timeline in this thread.

last night at the shop working on the plumbing of this project. Got the final setup routed and is in perfect working order and fitment is spot on. (current bracket is just a quick 3d printed bracket for placement) Just waiting for the machine shop to finish the metal relocation bracket for validation. Have some ideas on other options but will wait to test before I come out with that. But so far super happy with the outcome so far.

This afternoon at the shop working on the relocation bracket. Learning how to use the bending press. Project coming along.

Debating doing them either in stainless or steel and powder coating them. Feeling powder coating would be the better choice. Anyway… here's where we are today on this project

Small update as we head back to machining Friday to mill out the rails for the washer bottle cap to slide in. Finished powder coating the bracket and hope to have this locked up shortly. Excited to get this project wrapped up and on to another one.

Very Nice, been looking for a catch can set up for a while while I'm waiting for my G1 kit to ship out. Thank you for taking on the project, I definitely will be interested... I have wrinkled valve covers, you think the seal plates will still work ok?

Absolutely. I also have powder coated covers and have had the plates off and on with no issues of sealing

Awesome work, how is your testing going? I believe you said it is breathes much better, but is that a general comment or something you can feel or hear when the motor is running?

Wondering also if this has an impact on IATs before/after.

Us Harrop guys are gonna have to figure out a different mounting solution. Our intercooler reservoir bottle sits in the same spot. 🤔
