Yeah always was a fan of mag blue TEs. Mine have been mounted and they're on the car, however I have not seen it sitting on the floor yet lol. Should have the TAs tmrw/friday so I can button the car up and see how it sits.

Knocked out tension strut monoball/spherical bearings today. Process was pretty straightforward.

Press the original rubber bushings out. The bushing sleeve OD measures 70mm/2.75" and it was very difficult for me to locate any press sleeve/cup that matched to allow me to press the outer "race". Pressed the center instead and it popped out fine without tearing. EZ.

Next I drilled and tapped for a setscrew. These spherical bearings have an "anti-rotation" feature utilizing a setscrew. Really don't think it's necessary as these parts are definitely interference fit and it's not going anywhere. But I did it anyway. I drilled the appropriate size hole and tapped it M8-1.25.

Bearings sat in freezer all day long. With the arm ready for the new monoballs, took my torch and applied some heat to the metal and they dropped right in. Took it to the press again to give her some more oomph. Then used a center punch and drill to set a slight dimple for the set screw to seat firmly into.

All Done, just need to bolt them back on tomorrow

Took the car out to CMP yesterday for SCCA Track Night. Car behaved well and definitely got some fun runs in. Met 3 other E9X M3 owners out there, all of them were Alpine White lol.

I am probably going to look into different pads for the front as the DS2500s definitely overheated (although I was probably braking too much). Second session I had some severe brake judder from pad deposits but it cleared itself up by the last session.

Overall still learning the chassis hopefully I can attend a lot more trackdays this year. I don't think I did but 1 last year.

Here are some photos

Nice! What did you use to glue the projector on? I bought some 2.5 lens but chickened out because I didn't think it would hold up

There is no "glue" used in a projector lens swap. You need to remove the factory lens which is held in with metal tabs on the projector lens retainer. Then you have to re-tune the cutoff shield because the focal point will be different with the aftermarket lens which may make light output worse than before, if you don't set the focal point properly for the new lens.

If you're referring to the high beam/dummy projector, its kind of a pain if you want it to look clean. The plastic lens needs to be removed then you need to bore out the center of the shroud, then glue the lens around it from the backside. Silicone is fine.

Yes I am referring the silicone glue you used on the 2.5" projector not the functional 3" . What did you use to bore out the shroud? Any before and after pics? I did the lights myself and they were very easy but had no confidence that the silicone glue would last more than a year.

OK thanks dude. Next time I do my lens' I'm gonna give that a try. It seems like you drive your car so if it holds up for you it should hold up for me.

Yeah it'll be fine lol. You can bore it just enough so the lip/flats of the lens edge have something to sit on. Or you can just find a smaller lens that would replace the original plastic one.

Got some custom 2 piece rotors made by Paragon Brakes. I'm running the C63 AMG calipers and they utilize a thicker disc than OEM. These kits don't address the rotors just tell you to run OEM, so I reached out to them and they designed a 360x36mm disc for this specific application (+6mm over OEM). I went with their CC24 face pattern.

Another benefit other than obviously heat capacity with the thicker rotors is now I can run a wider pad 76mm radial depth. The OE discs have open area near the hat which is just unswept area.

We are working on a setup for the rears soon too .

Here is a photo of the rotor with new EBC yellow pads with a really nice sweep.

I've also been sitting on some Schirmer Nitron R3s for some time now. Decided to tackle the fronts today as well and have got them installed. Will probably do the rears next weekend whenever I get the BAV Auto tool as I need to do the rear spherical conversion as well. Knocking those both out at the same time.

Knocked out most of the rear spherical upgrade, bav auto tool was perfect for the job and made this process rather easy. Did both the upper arms and trailing arm bushings, total of 3 per side done.

Still need to buy the bimmerworld camber arm spherical kit so those aren't done yet, nor is the lower knuckle bushing as I have to drop the camber/spring arm to make room for the tool. Prob tackle that this weekend and install the rear coilovers as well since I have to remove those parts anyway to install them. Then get everything tq'd to spec

Amazing! Can you provide details on your custom headlights? Did you just upgrade the lenses and used OEM projectors for quad set up? Also what LED bulb for turn signal? I feel like they usually look dull after spraying the housing black but yours is bright! Also are those precision rings?

Thanks

Didn't use any widely available aftermarket ring those are original rings backlit with Diode Dynamics HD halos. Projectors were upgraded with Bi-LED. LED turn signal bulbs just some I found on Amazon lol
