Noticed that. It is possible that brake temps would not allow anything more for an entire lap. That is a heavy (5,000lb) car to be slinging, and they would've found the sweet spot for heat/fade as they worked up to this.

That car is 700lbs heavier than our SUV X3 m40i...

I believe Tesla cheated given the braking performance demonstrated in other reviews. Cheated as in, it wasn't 100% stock. Do you think Elon is above minor cheating to claim some ego points? I don't. Misha Charoudin drove an updated Model S with "raven" motors without the plaid option and the brakes were absolutely toast in less than half a lap.

Given the racing I've done, I'd have to believe this was the reason why. It's like the guy going 170mph in the 4800lb Model S into a turn. You have to slow down way in advance and on a track you can overpower the brakes with any car, this effect will just be exaggerated with a heavier car.
