WMA lossless does not seem to work on 09 iDrive

Just upload a bunch of songs to the car. Converted from FLAC to WMA lossless. No dice.

What's the next best format to try? High bitrate AAC?

Looks like you can't stream any lossless format off the HD. 320K WMA9 is the best you can do.

ACC lossless and WMA lossless seem to work off USB.
