yeah and the 4-5 days I mentioned earlier is with Zero street miles....only run them on the track. I would run a square setup and rotate them around to all four corners.

I got 6 days with 2,000+ street/highway miles on my first set of NT01s but that was when I was running 13CW from 2:08-2:14. I don't slide around since I keep the nannies on so the tires wearing after 4 days is probably because I'm running much faster now.

Brake pads are a different story--I've burned through more than 50% of a new set of front Pagid RS29s during a 2-day weekend at Watkins Glen.

That's impressive. Guess the Glen is tough on brakes eh? What do the RS29s run in ST60 spec?

My guess would be that the Glen has a smoother surface than the tracks that you frequent in California (and therefore the Glen and other northeast tracks are easier on tires), but the Glen's multiple high-speed braking zones burn through brake pads in no time. In comparison, a set of Pagids would last at least several days or more at Lime Rock, where there is only one significant braking zone.

Texas World Speedway (TWS), a pretty high speed but old track seems to eat tires. Circuit of the Americas (COTA), a similar high speed track with some slower, tighter turns...should be harder to tires is actually really easy.
I can't figure out what dictates tire wear. I thought it would be heat and COTA would eat tires alive because its got a couple of hard braking zones after long straights. Where as TWS is a track that flows and only has 2 somewhat tight turns...should have cooler tire temps? Interested to learn more.

Does the asphalt have anything to do with it? I don't know.

Can't be butt hurt, I don't know and neither do you that I wouldn't come there and run better times. Never been on socal track. May make thunderhill but don't know if that counts. Run a few rain days here and might make you feel like a sissy though.

It's a slow afternoon, gotta entertain myself somehow.
BTW, let me know when y'all might come down to Thunderhill. I've only been there once (it was the first track day going DSC off full-time, in June of 2012), so it might be a good friendly battle for us. I know USCTrojanMan29 likes that track, so perhaps he'll join me there.
