What worries me is the weather forecast with this tropical storm heading to SFL, there is 80% chance of rain for Sunday

Lets wait until Wednesday to see how the weekend will look, maybe we get lucky and the storm heads up to the east of SFL

I will try and check out some places ... haven't had time.
One idea is the parking area off of Rickenbacker Causeway; not sure how big it is but it should fit 20 cars, though there will likely be other people doing BBQ and hanging out. There are 2 parking areas, one on the south side, not sure what view you get, and then the one on north side, which has a gorgeous view of Brickell and Downtown Miami. |

How does everyone feel about this possibly costing $10-$20 or so per car to get in?
Check out 1111 Lincoln Road... Here's a Flickr search with some views. https://www.flickr.com/search?sort=r...lincoln%20road I will try and stop by there tomorrow. Seems really cool. No idea how packed it will be or if it will be empty enough for all 20 cars. It's $5/hr per car though... but so are most cool parking garages... Seems promising though. I keep looking but wanted to throw this one out there. Last edited by ddk632; 08-28-2014 at 01:18 PM.. |

Westin Diplomat garage top level, always has space on a Sunday.
It's $10. View is ok, not spectacular (especially as the better view is at sunrise) but if we get a big sunset with nice colors it might spill over to the east view of A1A. As for locations, maybe Bayside or Brickell somewhere in a parking garage? Merrick Park? Mary Brickell Village? Tons of options and everyone can grab a bite to eat after! |

at this point you are the CEO of this meet, Trevor hasn't showed up for a while so if we don't find a place soon, we may have to move the meet for next week

Ok well we need at least a majority of those who are in to chime in on whether they are willing to have a cost associated with the meet - no point going to a parking garage with a view if no one will show up.
I'm ok with pushing back a week or two if it works for everyone. I can scope some locations tomorrow and Saturday (my kids love going for a drive!) and have something for Sunday either way. I say we take a vote to see what is the best option. So far there are these possible locations 1. Rickenbacker Causeway north side under trees or by Rusty Pelican (have to scope) 2. Hollywood Westin Diplomat garage top level ($10) And debunked locations 1. 1111 Lincoln Road ($5/hr and possibly packed so might not work) 2. Viceroy / Miami River Park taxi circle (as stated earlier won't work for 17 cars) 3. Watson Island (closed; damn Miami developers finally started building a mega marina there) I will check other locations that Rob suggested, as well. |
