Thanks, but I really like the white ones. I’ll probably order a set.

Just received mine!

M logo lit plus kmph delete. Pretty standard. I say the speedo is going to look cleaner like the km ones!

Mine arrived today. Was going for a clean + simple look which worked out perfectly. Didn't go for the M back lit option b/c I already know what I'm driving

Notes:
Be patient. I ordered on May 4th and received these June 17th. To the credit of the seller, the first set didn't meet his standards and had to be redone which I did appreciate since I rather wait longer than receive a sub par product. Good communication on his part.

"White" is not as bright as I expected. They are more of a very light grey vs white. See pic for contrast between a white sheet of paper vs white gauges.

Overall good deal for the price and big plus for being able to customize. Will update when installed.

6ixSpd I just realized this PerfektToolbox can overwrite the speedo calibration offset factor to 0% so that it reads true speed..

OMG. lol

It is a very slick GUI for all the Tool32 commands

You can do it via NCS coding of the KOMBI module as well: there are two "BC_Korrektur" (or something similar) values that can be changed. One represents the digital speedo correction and the other for the analog needle.

The analog one doesn't do anything. I verified that.

Hmm. This is the kind of comments I wanted to wait for before ordering the white ones. Was hoping the white was brighter. I wonder if this is something that can be tweaked?

Thanks for the heads up.

The guy is Polish and very nice to deal with even though english is not his first language...

Here's my set.. I wanted stock except orange and white lettering. I kept the km/h because I'm not too far from the Canadian border and have gone up there occasionally on vacation.

Mine installed...It was super easy.. The part that took the longest was cleaning all the old adhesive off the plastic backing (10 mins).. and even that was optional. I didn't need to use the correction software either. Mine also has the newer white backing (as opposed to black) which supposedly makes the lighting more even.

My buddy down_shift installed a custom set too. He must have taken the needles off sloppy because he needed adjustment from the software which only took him a few extra minutes.

Nice! They look awesome.

I'm waiting for a set with the white backing as well. The original black backing dims the light output at night a lot.

After installing, getting mixed results on mine. Looks great during the day, the white looks better when installed. The problem is at night. Only half of the speedometer and Rpm numbers are visible. Also have a black ring on the outside markers that is highlighted at night. Changing the brightness does not help. Was hoping for a cleaner look.

^something is definitely not right there.

What color was the adhesive on yours? Looks like you have the early version with black adhesive backing based on how dim the output is. Contact the seller, I'm sure he'll re-send you the fixed ones.

Thanks for responding. Yes the backs were black and now makes sense on why it's so dim. I reached out to the seller and will report back.

I took a new picture when it's much darker out and you can see the lighting on the white backing version is very bright and even. Looks OE except for the lit ///M logo

In the daytime it's nicely orange...

That looks absolutely perfect and much better than my black backing versions.

Anxiously awaiting the updated ones!

I have the same problem. I am going to have my installer take a look and make sure it wasn't installed wrong. Hoping it is.

they changed the design, the later ones with the white backing have even lighting through out. You probably have ones with black backing. You should send them an email about it, they have been very nice about sending new updated replacements to those having problems.

+1 The seller confirmed that the black backing is the issue. These are pretty straight forward in terms of install. The seller has been great about communicating and trying to fix this problem.

## Installation notes
  • The overlay's adhesive is very strong. On the MPG and Fuel gauge area, there are a few spots where the overlay is larger than the plastic it sticks too. This resulted in an area that was super sticky and the warmup dial got stuck on this during testing. I had to take it apart again to add some clear plastic shaped to the area to prevent it from sticking again.
  • The needles should not be shoved on too tight. If you press the needles from the center down towards the gauges, it should have spring-like bounce and come back up. If it s too tight, it won't do this. Ask me how I know..
  • The fuel gauge motor was loose during re-installation. I opened the rear and found out that the wormgear somehow popped out of its place. It is most likely when I removed the needles or something. I fixed the issue and was back up and running.

## Impressions
The quality of the overlays is very close to OE. It has proper spacing and everything just seem to match in terms of spacing and everything else. However, I'm a little disappointed in how it looks more reflective than the very matte OE black ones. This is shown in the picture above and I'm not sure how it will fare when I'm driving with some sun in my cluster. I have not tested the car in the dark yet, but I'm sure that won't be a problem. I love the less-cluttered look without the KM/h and the backlit M logo makes it feel like the current generation's clusters.

Updated dark pic

I might need to use the toolbox to readjust again.
