Recaro BMW Performance Seats

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:

Item Interest
Hello everyone,

Would anyone be interested in a set of bmw performance seats I've been building as a project?

I've been collecting parts for this project for almost a year, but an opportunity came to buy different seats as I finished sourcing the parts, and I'm willing to sell the project at a big loss, your gain. Or I can finish the seats then sell for more

Full parts list:

2 Recaro Sportster CS Seats (1 new passenger side, 1 driver side that requires full reassembly (makes it easier to swap covers during reassembly anyways)
1 replacement top foam and 1 replacement back panel.
Alcantara BMW Performance covers in red stitching.
Recaro seat heater kits
Recaro flat bar sliders
Recaro planted floor mounts

Things that are needed:
Removal of old covers, back panels
Installation of seat heater kit
Installation of 1 foam and back panel included
(Repaint/ respray Harness hoop passthru's)
Install new covers
Install sliders/ floor mounts
Install your stock seat belt receptacles

I'm $4,000 into the seats and they require full reassembly, but all parts to my knowledge are accounted for.

Willing to let go for $3000 locally, shipping cost can be determined if interested. Pretty fair considering the seats usually go for $6k and much higher than that from IND. I can also finish the seats and sell for more but would rather sell them now as-is

Please see the pictures of the exact covers and what they will look like once assembled:

I'd be interested in the Planted floor mounts.

Free bump for a cool setup!

They don't seem to look like they have airbags so are they really bmw performance seats?

They are but without the airbags so much lighter hence better performance!

Same aesthetics and all of that too!

Ha. I wasn't tying to throw shade.... but yeah if the seats were ready to go I'd definitely consider it (specially if heated seats). They are beautiful and would go nice with my Melbourne red that has black interior. Again, good luck with sale.

No I totally get it. I was hesitant to posting them like this vs finishing them first. I do feel it’s a good opportunity for someone to finish them to their specs vs. mine.

Correct I bought the heaters for them

You can buy OEM heater elements?

Nice seats, I'd be surprised if these are here by end of week..

Edit : NM I read the ad, they're recaro heater kits.

Thanks man. I bought the universal kit. It runs off a circular toggle switch that's on the seats. Exactly how heated Sportsters would come from the factory and it's a new kit. Along with the foam; shell, the covers, etc. most of it is new or in great condition.

Yeah what you have there are basically universal sportsters, the seats IND sell are plug and play to the factory harnesses including the factory elements to work with factory controls and including airbags. No coding or wiring required.

Still a deal though considering all the hardware you're including and the custom covers. They look sweet.

The nice part about these is they have custom stitching, they sit lower than the performance seats w/ planted brackets. And they’re lighter w/ o airbags.

Idk I was about to finish these and I really think someone will appreciate the lot. Just bought GTS seats last night so it’s time they go unless I finish them first before sale. I’m $4k into the lot and willing to loose $1k right now.

Weight will be comparable to Recaro Sportsters plus the sliders/ brackets.

It will save significant weight vs. stock seats

I'm sure they will!

If you don't mind me asking, why did you abandon the project? Also, if I were you, i'd just reassemble them and post them for a bit more $$. Should only take a couple hours out of your day!

I just bought Euro GTS Seats! And yes I kind of agree with you, my plan was to do some paintwork during assembly since it would enhance the seats. My thinking was the next owner could build them to their specs instead of mine, but if I don’t get serious inquires in the next couple days I will begin the process then ask for more when I’m done, since I’m already loosing lots already

I met with Ben and saw these in person, definitely a great project for those who want to personalize with their own finishing touch

What part need paint? You mention the harness loop pass through but aren't those already painted black?

Sorry for the noob question but I'm not the most savvy mechanic lol

Would you be willing to ship to Vancouver Canada?

Thanks,
