exhaust options in SE Michigan

Hi fellow m3 owners.
I currently have an ACM exhaust. I am looking into a new xpipe/rear section combo sometime this year.
I am wondering what you guys recommend?
I have been looking at Dinan rear / RKP street xpipe.. but think it might be a little too quiet for the $.

Let me know! also if I could hear some examples if local to Troy area, I'd be down!
Thanks

We have literally an ENTIRE section and sticky post on this WITH videos...

ACM is meh in terms of loudness and Dinan is a joke for loudness as well. You aren't going to get loud from an x-pipe, you'll get tone and depth.

Ditch the crappy ACM and just get something cheap like a Megan, Corsa, Borla, or Remus if you want just LOUD.

RKP Race and ANY after market exhaust aside from ACM/2pipe mod/Dinan will get you stupid loud.

*BE WARNED, DRONE WILL OCCUR WITH STUPID LOUD*

TBH, video doesn't do justice. I don't want rasp, I want just a little louder than ACM+ tone and also no smell. I could do smell but previously running catless on other cars, I don't know if I'm up for it this time.
What do you think about RKP Street + Dinan rear? I was thinking this setup should not give me any drone nor smell but hoping it'd be a little louder with some tone.
Thanks

You can 100% notice the differences between the exhausts in the uploaded videos in the sticky section; it's a start.

Dinan wont get you loud, it's a more exotic note, but not loud.

If anything, a new exhaust and no xpipe will get you more loud but not have rasp. Rasp is usually introduced with xpipes which add depth and tone (or rasp).

I don't know if this would help you but I'm local in Rochester Hills. I have a 2008 M3 sedan, with M performance exhaust version 2, all else stock. Great sound, no drone. If you're interested in meeting up to hear it let me know.

Regards,
Christopher

That's great to hear. I would love to hear the MPE v2. I was looking at MPE or Dinan. I hear dinan paired up with an x pipe sounds excellent hence why I was leaning towards the Dinan.
I am right by Athens High School. So not too far from you. I will have to finish this contract job and I should be back to working 3 days a week starting April. I will reach out to you then! sounds a bit weird but do you have an instagram? I could follow you.
Thanks

I'm in Milford/Brighton area and have a stock exhaust system with the "2.5 mod" done to it - happy to show it off if you're interested

I agree, my favorite. I was going for a deep, non raspy sound. I have a turner test pipe, only a primary cat delete everything else in tact, and eisenmann race on my car. Here's what it sounds like.

Thats exactly what i have now. Turner test pipes on stock x pair with eisenmann race. Exotic exhaust note not "cheap loud" note.
