First M3 Purchased! (E92 M3 AW/FR)
Hi all,
7 years ago was my first introduction to the BMW world. I had a pre-LCI black on black E90 328i that only had the premium package on it. She was good to me but eventually I longed for something more and seeing Ms left and right where I've lived (LA/Seattle) doesn't help much. Fast forward to today where I'm finally in a position where I could pull the trigger and purchase my first M3! The M3 is my "realistically attainable dream car" and now I guess I have to dream a bit bigger for the next one It took me about a year of moderate searching and 4 months of daily searching to find the M3 I wanted. Requirements: -Alpine White -Fox Red -LCI -E92 -DCT -<60k miles -Competition Package -Individual Audio -No accidents on record nor proof of accidents through paint matching, body panels, etc -No front bumper drilled for license plate Preferred: -West Coast/non rust state car -As many other packages as possible was a big bonus During this time, there were a lot of cars that almost fit the bill from my hard requirements but always had one or two things that made me say no (accidents and two tone Fox Red/Black were the biggest hindrances ...). Yeah, and you think I'm kidding that I'd turn down a car because it was drilled through but I did that multiple times as well. Having bumper plugs isn't the same - I did it on my E90. Every time you wash it it'll pain you so much. Yeah, you could always buy a new bumper but I'd rather buy from someone or a company who appreciated the car enough NOT to do that (I'm talking to you ... CarMax). So yes, this was about principle as well. If I was going to spend this much time and money on an M3 I wanted it to be perfect so I wouldn't have any regrets. Never settle! I usually used autotrader to search but found out about autotempest. This makes it super easy to search multiple websites. Eventually I saw this car on cragislist via autotempest in New York and it was already 4-5 days old so I thought it would be sold as AW/FR goes FAST. Luckily the first buyer could not secure financing so I was in the driver's seat. 2012 E92 M3 -Alpine White -Fox Red Extended -60k miles -DCT -Competition Package w/ CF Roof -Premium Package -Technology Package -Cold Weather Package -Individual Audio Thoughts: I'm super happy with the car and got a bit lucky as I actually bought this car sight unseen (had a PPI done and a thorough discussion with the shop owner who did it). I didn't have enough time to fly cross country and didn't want to risk the car getting sold from underneath me so I committed to it. I'd rate the car as an 8/10 exterior and 9.5 interior as is so not too bad all things considered. This car is everything I dreamed of and more - I'll spare you guys the details as you all know this car inside and out already. Plans: I want to keep it OEM+ so no major things planned. After a couple of trips to the gas station already, I know what "smiles per gallons" finally means now PO actually did some exterior mods I would have done already so that saved me some $ (CF splitters, gloss black grille, tints). Left: -CF spoiler -Lux H8 Angel Eyes -OEM trunk/hood emblem, wheel caps, M3 badge (PO did CF). Without further ado here are some pics and thanks for reading! |

Way to go!!
White over Red is classic. NY is a front plate state, glad the PO had some common sense. |

Congrats. Similar to mine, except my leather isn't extended. The CF spoiler will tie in nicely.
