ECS tuning coilovers

Did anyone see this yet?
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...029311ecs01~a/

$745 for a coilover setup is stupid cheap. I wonder if they have some more details on it and will share it with us.

Are you insinuating that they are sub quality coilovers? I think we'd all be shocked to see how many coilover components are sourced from China, but assembled in house or in Germany.

For someone that only daily drives their M3 and is on a budget, these look like an affordable option. Of course time will tell how reliable these are.

A bunch also come from Taiwan. I think BC is one.

Agreed
I am curious as ECS seems that they will stand by their products due to their reputation.

From what I understand, current ownership is just trying to pump up numbers and sell the business. No long term interest.

Buy out competitors, aggregate the market then sell at a premium.

Ehh, tough to risk it on these. Especially with BC being down to 900. Would rather go BC since there is at least a warranty decent comments and reviews. Hard to beat em for $900.

Looks like universal parts... the rear shocks have length adjustment on the shock itself despite being a separate spring and shock in the rear?

Looks pretty obvious they just stuck some random off the shelf shock and paired it with a lower mount to fit the car. Zero information on min/max height adjustment as well.

Probably made by BC, D2/Ksport or some other contract manufacturer. They're all related in some way. It goes on this chart somewhere:

That sucks. ECS is a good one stop shop for performance parts.

curious if we bought Ohlins RT from Fcp, if they still qualify for lifetime warranty. say you want to replace worn out shocks 4 years later? wouldn't be a bad idea to buy from them if true.

Just got mine installed. They feel good like any other China/Taiwan coilovers. My only complaint is the rear is too low even at max height. This seems common for f8x so I’m going to try adding a spring spacer like they did.

I paid under $400 without shipping. Dunno if I recommend it at the current price since it’s close to BC/ISC coilovers

Why not either stick to original (which will be a higher quality damper than this) or get a proper coilover kit. Don't understand why you would go budget on one of the most important parts of the car.
