Help with Tensioner Bolt Torque spec needed
SO I need help clarifying correct torque for e9x M3 belt tensioner main bolts. Im in the middle of replacing belts, Idler Pulley & both tensioners on my 2008 M3, but cant seem to find any listing of a torque specified for the main tensioner bolt (not the one attaching the pulley to tensioner arm, the one attaching the tensioner arm/device to the engine.
I found the Idler pulley in the manual I purchased online and other threads. but nothing else. Found a few conflicting BMW Torque spec docs out there. the 2 x M8 10.9 bolts attaching the Hydraulic tensioner strut to the engine or the tensioner arm seem to be 34Nm (25lb ft)based on general torque spec from newtis: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ations/5gDQK89 The main bolts on the tensioner arm device are M8 8.8 and the general torque is listed as 19Nm. but this seems a lot less that I would expect. when removing the tensioners, the main bolts seemed to have greater resistance than the 2 small bolts attaching the tension strut. Thanks in advance. |
