IND | Install Guide: Future Classic E9X M3 (S65) Oil Filter Housing Cap



Tools Required:
  • 36mm oil filter socket

STEP 1: Open the hood and ensure your vehicle's engine bay is cool to the touch before beginning the installation process.

STEP 2: Using a 36mm oil filter socket, remove the OE oil filter housing cap.

STEP 2a: [If performing an oil change], follow the dealer recommended procedure and drain the existing fluid from your vehicle and remove the filter unit.

STEP 2b: [If performing an oil change], once all the old oil has been drained, dispose of the fluid safely and carefully reinstate the OEM drain plug.

STEP 2c: [If performing an oil change], fill your vehicle with the recommended oil type and quantity.

STEP 3: Install a new OEM oil filter housing o-ring onto the FC cap and pre-lubricate with fresh oil.

STEP 4: Place new OEM filter unit into the oil filter housing base.

STEP 5: Remove the filter stock from the OE oil filter cap and snap it into the FC cap. Install the assembly onto the housing base.

STEP 6: Finish by torquing the Future Classic oil filter cap to 25Nm.

Do you guys have a picture showing the difference between the Hard Coat Clear vs. Hard Coat Black?
