Question M3 ZCP tire replacement advice

So... I've tried searching, but I think my questions are too specific. Hopefully you all can help!

1) As the title states, I have a 2012 E92 ZCP and am looking to replace the stock tires for more meat! Tell me if this will work: 255/35 (front), 285/35 (rear). Can I go wider without any rubbing issues?

2) I am also looking into MS wheel spacers. On their "reference" thread, I found a few people who run 15mm (front), 12mm (rear). Problem is, this is with stock tires. Am I correct to assume that wider tires will affect this? Should I run a more conservative spacer set? (i.e. 12mm/10mm)

3) With wider tires on ZCP wheels, is it even worth it to run spacers?

*** I'd like to run as flush as possible, with as wide as tires as possible with NO RUBBING issues...***

Thanks in advance for everyone's help,

i currently have 255/35 fronts and 275/35 rears...

i don't think you can get away with 285's on the rear.

im also running 15mm spacers up in front and 12mm in rear and it look phenomenal, i've gotten nothing but compliments on my set up

hope this helps

Thanks in advance for everyone's help,
You want to run 255/35 front and 285/30 rear. You can also run 255/35 and 295/30 on the stock ZCP wheels as well as 255/35 with 275/35.

With the 12mm spacer out back it will be iffy with the 285/30/19, it will depend on tire brand. As far as a 285/35/19 it is too tall at 27" tall, it will be 1" taller than the front at 26".

My car without spacers running a 255/35/19 and a 285/30/19.

you can go with the 285/30 or 295/30 in the back.

personally, id go 295 for more width and more sidewall, but thats me.

IMO, the 285 is a little short.

Lots of great tire choices in either size.

I have 2 issues with 295s out back, one a 10" rim while it will support a 295 tire its not optimal. Also, you now have 40mm of stagger vs. the OEM 20mm. Granted a 285 out back with a 255 front is 30mm stagger vs. the OEM 20 but it is closer and it is whats on the GTS. A 295 rear should be followed along with a larger than 255 tire up front. Problem is your only choice is a 265/30/19 which is just way short for a tire at just 25.3" tall and the 275/30/19 which on a 9" rim will fit but once again its not optimal. If you are going to go down the road of a 295 rear I would also go with the 275 front on the 9" front ZCP wheel.

Something I have been pondering myself.

Another advantage of a 295 tire is that there is a larger selection of tires available than with the 285/30./19 as the 295/30/19 tire is a OEM PCar size.

Love to see a shot of your car from an angle to get a judge of how this looks.

Honestly... It all really comes down to the tire you choose.

From personal experience.
AD08 255/35/19 Fronts + 10MM Spacer will Rub on the inner liner.
AD08 295/30/19 Rear + No Spacer rubs on inner fender

AD08 245/35/19 Fronts + 15MM Spacer NO Rubbing
AD08 265/35/19 Rear + 10MM Spacer Rub VERY slightly under very hard compression on Inner fender

Mich. PS2 245/35/19 Fronts + 15MM Spacer No Rub
Mich. PS2 265/35/19 Rear + 10MM Spacer No Rub.

If you run a tire that doesn't run wide or runs very round (like Michelin), I think a 255/35/19 + 10MM Spacer will be Okay.. But very close. Now 285/35/19 + any spacer, I personally think u will rub. I even think you'll rub without any spacer. You better go with something like 285/30/19 + 5 or 10MM.

here's a pic of my set up...i've actually posted it for sale in the FS section of wheels/tires

hope this helps...

also, i would def not recommend running anything bigger than a 275 on the rear, anything more and it's a recipe for disaster. just my .02 cents

EDIT: forgot to mention, no gentlemen, no rubbing at all!

Couldnt agree more..dont see the appeal of running a giant tire and increasing the front/rear stagger by so much..This isnt a Gallardo folks..my 2 1/2 cents

So how is it going to be a recipe for disaster? The GTS runs a 285/30/19 out back...my car now from new has been running a GTS setup with absolutely no issues.

Dave I think he means anything bigger than 275/35/19 (in this case would be 285/35/19) would be absolutely rubbing. Maybe he doesn't understand that the sidewalls are shorter on a 285/30/19?

Looks good. That is exactly how my 245/265 AD08's look like but maybe with a little less stretch in the rear.

the GTS wheel is wider than the normal ZCP my friend...when you run an oversized tire on a wheel you always run the risk of constant rubbing, when you have the "stretched" tire set up, you lower and almost eliminate the chance of rubbing.

that's all im trying to say, if the set up works for you, then great, i hope you're enjoying it but if i want to slap on 285 or 295 tires, i'll just go ahead and buy a wider wheel....

No it isn't. Same wheel, same width, same diameter, same offset, different finish.

i was under the impression they were wider, but you're right, after referencing a few other places, it is the same...and i still think that pushing the limits on the rubber is the wrong decision, but to each their own
