Your CA can tell you the exact ship and your new vin number so you can track it.

My car was said to be done with production today Jan. 17. I'm told it should be here in LA near the end of Feb. or early March.

marinetraffic.com

Another good site to track the progress of the ship that is carrying your car is: marinetraffic.com, it is very informative.

Lightbulb Free shipfinder site and apps

I have been somewhat documenting (in another thread) my rather obsessive tracking/stalking of my car making its way to me!

Just found this today, pretty cool and it's free!
http://shipfinder.co

They have mobile apps too for various platforms:

Cheers!

Which VPC services Memphis Tennessee

My dealer is being sluggish with information on delivery.

Tracking on BMW's site indicated that it went into En Route to US status on June 29th.

I went on the W&W site and searched boats that left Bremerhaven around that time. The Undine departed on June 25th (all other boats departed after the status change to en route so I'm pretty sure it's on the Undine). It has stopped in NY and is now showing next stop as Brunswick.

Wondering if any of you guys know which VPC might service western Tennessee so I can try and gauge when my car will hit the dealer.

99% sure it would be Brunswick port/VPC. Do you have your VIN? The easiest way to track is to enter the VIN on W&W's site as the 'cargo ID' and it'll tell you what boat you're on (if the shipment has been at least booked already). Good luck with the waiting, it's the hardest part -- Mine arrived in Brunswick 2 days ago and is still at the VPC... the wait is agonizing

No VIN, again dealer isn't being as helpful as I would like. I don't think the sell many M cars and aren't used to reacting to the type of requests people who buy them ask about.

What ship was your car on?

Mine was on the Tombarra, but it left Bremerhaven 6/19 or so, so it is not likely that your car is on the same ship. Do you have BMWFS financing on your car? If so you may be able to retrieve your own VIN from the My BMW site by entering your SSN and other details and setting up your BMWFS account online.

If you must use your dealer, ask them to print you a VIR report, your VIN will be found at the top. I know the CAs can be useless, mine were too -- but they should know what a VIR is and be able to easily print you one
